Feeler: Chevy 350, AX15, NP231, + all adapters to fit XJ/MJ

Call me crazy but just seeing if there is interest in this. I'm a Ford and Jeep guy through and through and Chevy does nothing but give me issues. I finally got everything running fine but would really love to just throw a 351W setup in the Jeep. Below is the setup. The whole setup has about 1000 miles on it. If you're worried about cooling, I have a CSF 3-row radiator in there and the engine runs 195 on the dot. Located in Wrightstown, NJ.

 

Engine

Chevy 350, 5.7L V8, out of (I believe) is an '87-'90, pretty much stock minus the carb, intake and oil pump

Engine was cleaned and coated with 3 layers of black engine paint

Edelbrock Performer intake with Edelbrock Performer carb (less than a year old), includes a spacer plate

New mechanical fuel pump

New doubler roller timing chain and new chrome timing cover

Thermostat housing is a chrome Edelbrock setup that turns 360 degrees

Valve cover gaskets and grommets were replaced

New distributor drive gear, distributor cap and rotor, spare plugs, and wires

Air cleaner was customized a little to clear the Edelbrock fuel inlet

Headers are Sanderson headers made for a Chevy 350 swap into a Cherokee/Comanche

Power steering pump is a GM pump and I just ran my stock power steering lines (not sure if I'm giving the lines with the setup yet)

Water pump is a Summit high flow water pump

Stock alternator (about a month old)

Belts are Dayco and Gatorback, matching v-belts in size (atleast close enough, 46.0" vs 46.1").

Engine mounts are the Novak Adapters mounts

Coolant hoses I made (they will go with it and I can give part numbers of what was pieced together)

Engine has a TransDapt oil relocation setup with a few pipe fittings to turn from the engine side sharper to avoid my upper control arm

High torque mini starter with lifetime warranty

 

Transmission

AX15, removed from a '92

'79 Chevy Camaro bell housing (with external slave)

Novak Adapters plate for the bell housing to AX15

Novak Adapters pilot bushing for big nose transmission (have a spare one I need to knock out of the old engine still)

'86 Camaro lightweight flywheel (replaced when the engine went in) with new bolts

Stock clutch, 10 spline coarse

CJ slave cylinder (I just used my stock line but have a stainless steel braided line I can include with it)

Transfer case holes redrilled to reclock the transfer case up (holes are a little messy but they do their job)

New output gasket

 

Transfer case

NP231, removed form a '92

Custom shifter (not sure if I'm including this with the setup yet)

New input and output gaskets

 

 

The bad with this setup. Engine has a little blow by but it isn't tuned perfectly yet (all cylinders measure out between 130-150psi). Bolt holes for the transmission mount bracket on the transmission ripped out, should be able to retap them but I was just going to make a custom bracket. The motor mounts have been modified slightly so that they will truely fit an '84-'01 XJ/MJ (three bolt holes had to be egged out slightly, had to take a notch out of one of the holes where the rubber mount goes into so that it would slip in, and had to take a little bit of the back of one mount off so that the header cleared the bracket). These modifications do not effect the integrity of the bracket at all, it actually makes it easier to drop the engine in in the newer ('87+) Jeeps. The drivers bracket is held on by 7 or 8 bolts/nuts and passenger by 4 nuts/bolts (can drill more holes in the frame if you want to include more bolts, the holes are drilled on the brackets).

 

That's about all I can think of. I have about $2900 into this setup and only have about 1000 miles on it. I'm looking for $2000 for it. It's still in my Jeep so you can hear it run and feel the transmission shift.

 

I will even throw in all my spare parts if I get my asking price. Once this setup goes, I'm going back to what I'm more comfortable with and agrees with me more. I'll put a list of most of the parts but everything goes with it:

 

3970014 Block (needs to be dunked, currently has the extra pilot bushing in it)

Heads: 882 (needs to be dunked), 081 (one sides intake ports are ported, never got around to the other), 883 (needs a new stud)

Stock cam

Valve covers: Weiland (older perimeter bolt style), stock center bolt (spare set of brand new gaskets on these)

Flywheel, pre-'86, basically brand new

(2) Edelbrock Performer intake manifolds, part #2101, non-egr

Holley 4160 carb, fresh rebuild, just needs a tune, will include the extra parts from the rebuild kit with it

Stock starters (have a few)

Flexplate

(3) Oil pans (can never have enough spares!)

(2) 7" Harmonic Balancers

Standard pushrods (some hardened)

Stock lifters

Stock rockers
