JeffN
Truck takes +/- 8 seconds of cranking to start. (I believe an injector is bleeding off pressure) It pulses on acceleration and really feels sluggish, this is a 90 Eliminator automatic 2WD my 87 4.0 5 speed has neither problem. The 87 holds pressure, the 90 loses pressure (fuel) It has a new fuel filter and pressure is perfect. Feedback on the issue would be gladly accepted. 05mxdiesel
I would like to hear some opinions on this as well, the 89 I just bought cranks forever too. I thought about changing cps first.
Randy in Maine
Might want to check the fuel pressure regualtor before you buy new injectors.
JeffN
If the fuel pressure regulator is bad my fuel pressure would not be spot on.
Randy in Maine
Yes, but residual fuel puressure in the fuel rail is maintained by check valves in both the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pump. Leaking injectors or fuel fittings may or may not be the problem here. Tell us how you tested it.
Dirteatr717
My 89 4.0 takes a while to start up as well... If you turn the key to the ON position for a couple seconds then start the truck it shouldn't take as long....
