Gauge swap revisited 4 to 6 cyl clusters

I have an '88 MJ 4 bngr.

 

I want to swap out the dummy light cluster for a gauge cluster. I have a cluster from a '90 and I know HOW to swap it.

 

BUT the senders are giving me a fit.

 

I found a GAUGE specific coolant temp sender for the '88.

 

With the oil pressure sender I cannot find a GAUGE sender until 1991. I am sure it will fit...but I don't know if it will work and I don't want to waste $34 to find out.

 

Does anyone here know if the '91+ sender will work? It has a single blade type connection so again I know it will FIT...

Thanks...I think I may have answered it myself as well...

 

Realizing the parts store has more 'stuff' listed for XJ's I did a search for the oil sender for an '88 XJ (well...for my '90 XJ first) and sure enough...they have a GAUGE sender listed.

 

SO I guess I will see if it works. It is the same PN as the '91-?

 

Anyone else able to confirm?

In the 88 the 2.5 and the 4.0 have the same part#. In 92 airtex has a diff part# for the 4.0 no 2.5 listing, no airtex part listed for91 2.5 but 4.0 has a diff part# than 88
