I don't understand what I initially wrote either. I must have been a little tired. I want to use one key for the door locks and ignition. I heard that someone has done this but can't fint the post. I think that they used a newer style jeep key, the one with the rubber end, and adapted it's use for the door locks and ignition. I'm not too concerned about securing the glove box with just one key, if I feel like locking the glove box I will still have the other key handy to do so.

Thanks.

fond someone parting out a XJ with the newer parts. it'll have to be pre '95 when they went to the chyrsler column. rock auto says the door lock cylinders are good from '81 - '97 so youre safe there. i think they went to the rubber headed key around '91?? so that has the donor narrowed down to a '91ish to '94. good luck. call the non-"u-pull-it" junk yards or look on craigslist.
