MJ is dead
Wondering what the hood markings on old military jeeps symbolized? Squad? Division? What? I'm no army boy, and am curious what some common notations were. I need to know what digits to stencil in on the jeep bike. It gets sprayed tomorrow. Yes it WILL be OD green. Any pics will be great! jimoshel
To the best of my knowledge the only markings on the hood were the inventory accounting number. These were on the side of the hood immediately above and parallel to the fenders. Sometimes, depending on units, there would be a star on top of the hood. All the unit markings were on the bumpers. Consisting of the unit no for the vehicle, Company, regiment and division. For example HQ 1 511AIR 11ABN.= Headquarters Company unit 1, 511th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne division.l
