SaltyMJ
Ok as you guys know I have been having some engine problems..well today we got the valve train off..and well, there's water on the cylinder heads that are at the bottom of the block..the ones on the top probably had water too..there is water where the lifters are also..what could cause this??? This sucks! :wall:
Automan2164
I am assuming this water didn't come from you taking the head off? Rob L.
SaltyMJ
I am assuming this water didn't come from you taking the head off? Rob L. I don't think so, there is quite a bit where the lifters are..maybe a little from removing the head. I think a blown head gasket was my issues all along..it has had some bad power issues since I got it..the other day I drove it to pep boys to get a rear view mirror and when I came out I saw coolant all over the ground under my jeep, turns out the heater hose was leaking..now here's my theory, I think it must have been leaking before I left and leaked quite a bit and started to over heat making the head gasket blow completely. I don't think its too bad..I checked the oil stick and its not milky or anything, just regular oil. Idk maybe we did get water in by removing the head..what can you do we're noobs at engine work..How do I go about getting the water out safely? Automan2164
Drain the pan, sop up any water you can. If its on the cylinders, its probably in the crankcase too. Once you get everything back together, I would run it for like 250 miles, and change the oil again if your that worried. Rob L.
