VIN # lookup??

I need to look up a vin # to make sure a mj I'm looking at is not hot.

does anyone know a site that does that for free. I called the cops and they were less than helpful :dunno:

I don't know of any sites. I'd say get it. If there's a problem, you already contacted the authorities and they didn't do anything. I would give the DMV a call too, but I doubt they're gonna be any help.

thats what I'm thinking to.... DMV no help at all. I was just going to use it as a doner truck, but my wife says i should fix it up too :brows:

Regardless of what you do, definitly get a bill of sale and make sure the guy signs it.

 

I also say fix it up. It looks to be pretty decent, hate to see another good one get parted out.

Its missing the steering column.... can i put one from an xj in it??

Sure can. Any 84-94(5)? column should be a direct fit as long as the plugs match up, which I think they're all the same.

 

Airbag columns can go in, but I'm not sure what's involved.
