  1. Broken distributor at the mounting bolts. I'm confused about what happened to my Comanche straight 6 engine. It started and reved super high suddenly so I turned it off, then someone else said they tried to start it when I wasn't there and it did the same thing. When I got back and turned the key it cranked but didn't fire or start. I noticed upon inspection that the distributor was broken off the mount and sitting up about an inch. Does anyone know what could have caused that to happen, and why after replacing the distributor properly the new one cracked and the engine still won't start
