  1. I got back from my spring break trip with my parents, younger brother, and 2 of our 4 beagles. It was a much needed get away for all of us. The weather for the most part was perfect, aside from the rainy day. I really enjoyed my stay at Cheaha. It was nice being able to sit on the porch and not hear trains, planes, or highway traffic. Due to the winter storms there where a ton of trees blown over on the trails. The biggest problem we had is the Park's laundry facilities where not maintained well. The washing machine had a bad burning smell and the shut off switch did not work, We had to locate the GFI breaker and trip it to turn off the machine. The staff did not seem to care about the condition of the machines after we informed them of our experience with them. Mom has already started planning another trip to the mountains of Alabama this time we may return to DeSoto State Park. The drive up there was great. I discovered I loved driving the winding mountain roads in my Charger! Our Cabin There was a restaurant on the mountain with a great view. we hiked out to one of the waterfalls Hiked out to another over look On the day we had bad weather we drove down to Lineville and checked out an antique shop. It was a good stop. I left with 5 records and a cast iron skillet, dad left with a cast iron pot, cast iron cauldron and a old wood saw. The Last night there I got some pictures of the sunset. All the pictures above where taken with an iPhone 5s. I haven't uploaded the 500+ pictures from my Nikon yet.
