Last week we flew down to Phoenix Az to pick up the 89 Pioneer. Thanks for all the help on what to lookout for. All in all it's a great truck, with a little surface rust and that Arizona sun fade paint. It drove like a champ over 1300 miles to get it home. Now I have a lot of projects.
Here is a picture of the rear axle. It is out of a Cherokee so the spring mounts are wrong. Notice how the leafs are splayed out and the shackles twisted. I don't know how he got them in, but I will have to fix it. I can keep it over slung, right?
Also, the shock mounts are wrong. I was wondering about that. Whether I should weld a frame mount in front of the axle or change the mount on the axle.
Any tips for me on this?
So far so good. I had fair warning that I would get hooked, so you can say I told you so.
