will the ax15 five speed from a 4.o six mate up with the bellhousing on a 2.5 4cyl engine? forgive me if this is a stupid question. at face value to me it won't work but I want to be sure. :roll: ;) :USAflag:

I would like to know if there is some kind of parts cross reference/compatability out there or if anyone knows if you can swap out a 4 speed trans for a 5 speed trans and across how many model years are they bolt up? I have a 1987 comanche with 4 speed and 2.5 engine, I lost 1st and 2nd gears and I would like to goto a 5speed tranny, I am hoping to improve gas mileage, so I need to know what model years are compatable ( direct bolt up) :USAflag:
