Both ideas look good guys. Thanks for giving me something to start with.

Question for all.... What do ya'll use to anchor stuff down in the bed? I'd like to do something like what the new TItans have....
-
Crap, guess I have to look for some new coils LOL
-
Are 4.5in TJ front coils the same height as 4.5in XJ coils? I got a cheap set of Rubicon Express 4.5in TJ coils and when I put them under my MJ even with a 2in spacer it is considerably lower than the rear which we measured 5.5 in of lift after SOA.
-
Ya, after posting I compared that kit to a master install kit and its crazy to see the difference in parts. I'l probably just go for the master kit and do it right the first time.
-
I just got a steal on 4.56's for my new 8.8 and was wondering if ya'll thought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=260224518752 would work or would I need a more expensive install kit? Thanks, Kendal
-
Yup, SOA for the rear and I have some RE 4.5in coils for up front. also have some 2in spacers for the front if I need them, new trackbar, JKS Discos, Adj Lowers, New SS brake lines, Wheel spacers for front and rear, got the 1310 flange yoke w/ new ujoint, spring perches, shock brackets..... think that is it. What can I use for spring plates?
-
What did ya'll that have done a 8.8 swap use for new spring plates since the u-bolts are wider? Can the stock plates be re-used? They will look like poo but if they will work I might use them. I already have new shock mounts so I don't need the stockers for that. Kendal
-
I just ground off the spring perches and swaybar mounts today and have new perches and shock mounts in the garage. :D
-
So I can either get the stock explorer yoke and a 1310 to 1330 Ujoint or get a new 1310 flange and use the stock ujoint? That sounds like what is being said but I wanted to make sure.
-
wanted to follow up on this topic. Can anyone confirm if you can use a yoke off a ranger or such to connect an 8.8 to a stock MJ driveshaft? I just picked up my 8.8 and wanna get her under the jeep soon!!
-
You da man! Thanks

I've done alot of searching on many sites but can't seem to find my answer. What would be involved in converting a early 90's explorer 8.8 to disks? Can I get all the parts I need at the junkyard off a later model? Thanks, Kendal
-
Also check the connector. I had blinker stop working and when I checked it the dumb plastic housing was cracked. Went down to the junk yard and got a nice metal one and works like new! The dealer wanted like $25 for the connector BTW

Thats all I needed to hear. I'll just pick up a 231 tomorrow at the pull a' part. Thanks for the offer of the tcase tjbliley
-
I found http://charleston.craigslist.org/pts/531772571.html Would that be worth the money when I do my 4x4 conversion or should I just stick with the tcase out of an XJ? Can get them for about the same price so which ever is easier would be perfered. Thanks, Kendal

Ya, I need to do the rear bumper and side trim. I ran out of paint so it will have to be next weekends project.

I'm not much for doing a super DIY write up but here goes. I got tired of the ol' manche lookin like poo so I decided to give it a face lift. Seemed pretty straight forward! Here is what you need Couple cans of "pick a color" spray paint Some sandpaper, I picked 400 grit Some misc hand tools Here is the manche to start Image Not Found Next is starting to tear down.... Image Not Found More teardown, I thought about taping off the bumper to paint but realized it was just a few bolts to get it off so I did it that way instead. Image Not Found After you get it all torn off knock down all the rust and what not with the sandpaper then go at it with your spray paint. I did two coats which seemed to turn out okay. Small hickup when re-installing... The connector for the light had broken in two so I tried glue but think I might have to call the stealership and get a new connector Image Not Found And finally a few after shots. Hope you enjoy Image Not Found Image Not Found

Well for the past week or so I've had to bang the column shifter around from park to drive, to park, to neutral, back to park.... ect. to get it to start...... Any suggestions on what to do or tweak to fix this. I did alot of searching but couldn't find anything that sounded the same.
-
Well, drove it like 10 miles and found the leak. Both sides of the oil pan are leaking pretty good but nothing above that. Look like I'm gunna be oily this weekend.
-
Checked the Oil filter connection and no leaks. can you elabirate on the harmonic balancer?
-
Okay, did lots of searching to try and narrow down my problem. I've had a oil leak on the heep for a month or so now and can't seem to find it. Well today I bought some degreaser and sprayed down the motor. After washing it back off I let the motor run for probably 20min looking all over but can't find a drip anywhere. Drove it around the block and still can't see anything. I wiped down the back of the valve cover and no oil" just replaced the gasket btw". Oh, the dummy oil light blinks when I park the truck aswell even though the dipstick shows full when I check it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just wanna vent ya'll. I decided to use the old springs, spacers and shocks off my rubicon on the front of the manche tonight. Got the first side done and looked good. Second side not so much. Got the shock and spring out easily and then the fun began. The stupid bumpstop spun on the nut that was supposed to be welded. I don't have a welder or a sawzaw mind you. Decided to drill a few hold to get a wrench on the nut inside.... Well after making a big ol nasty hold and got a wrench to fit the stupid thing rounded off on me before I could get the darn thing off. Now I'm sitting on the couch kinda pissed off drinking a beer and just ordered a sawzaw from sears to cut the damn thing off. I will not be running a bumpstop on that side needless to say. I don't plan on ever offroading with it since its a 2WD so I'm not to worried about it!!!! Kendal Oh, FYI all the shocks off my 03 Rubicon bolt up fine to the manche, might not be the perfect length but like I said, no off-roading so no worries.

Just to follow up, I replaced the CPS in about 15min and the Heep cranked without a problem. The Tranny slipping was due to a crack in the coolant line running to the radiator which was probably my fault. I think it cracked when I switched over to the open loop radiator which works great I might add. As soon as I get that leak fixed she should run like a champ!

Awsome, I'll give that a try too!
