  1. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I would love to find a set of Rubicon's. They look awesome! How much did you guys pay for them? New or used?
  2. I have an 89 2wd swb pioneer and i would like to know if 30 X 9.5 X 15's will fit without rubbing????
  3. What vehicle could i get rims from that would fit my 89 comanche. I would like to go to 16" rims as there are more choices for tires. There are not many vehicles now with 15's. Also what tire size would give me a 29" tire with a 16" rim? Thanks
  4. thanks pete
  5. I am on my second comanche 4.0l now and both of them start the same. They crank for a longer duration and then fire up. Is this normal or is this something that can be rectified?
  6. What is the maximum tire size that i can put on my 89 2wd 4.0l comanche(no lifts)? I am looking at 235 75 r15 but i don't know how many inches this comes out to and some one told me that 29" is my max. Also, is my bolt pattern 5 X 4.5? I currently have 265 75 r15 on and they rub bad when at full turn.
  7. fixed i think. new rad. old one did not look bad but the rad shop said it was f*&k'd
  8. The system is completely free of air and the bottle and cap are good and hold pressure. If the idiot light sender is on the back of the head, then what was the sender that i removed behind the motor mount on drvers side?
  9. Guys: This is the story. I have an 89 comanche 4.0L 2wd auto with air. I got the truck last winter. It had no heat when i got it so i back flushed the heater core and that fixed that. Then in the spring when i was towing my boat on the highway the coolant bottle started boiling over. The temperature idiot light did not come on! The motor got very hot, but no major damage. The next day i put in a new thermostat and flushed out the rad with a garden hose and checked to make sure all lines were clear, as well as checking that the pump was working fine. I also installed a secondary temperature guage. I removed the sender that is behind the front motor mount on the drivers side to install the new guage sender. My engine temp has been between 200-260 deg. (when the outside temp is 30 deg). I have since changed the thermostat again and done a home bottle rad flush. My temps are still the same. Even if i run the aux fan full time it still gets hot. Yesterday while driving in Toronto, the temp idiot light came on at around 200 deg. It has never come on ever before....ever. I thought that i had taken out the sender. This is my delema. Did i take out the wrong sender? Is there another? What can i do to get my temps back down to where they belong??? Help!! P.S. - The rad looks to be in good condition. Few bugs but thats all.
  10. Thanks for the pics! Up here in Canada they want $325.00 for the same hitch. I'll see what it costs to have it shipped here from the US. Maybe it is cheaper.
  11. If any of you guys have a trailer hitch on your short box, could you take a few pics of it and how it mounts to the fram. I am going to see if i can get one made for mine. $350 is too much to buy new. Email pics to sn_wilson@rogers.com please if you can. Very appreciated if you do.
  12. I just re-painted my truck and had to remove them before i started. I also work in the vinyl graphic business. The cheapest and easiest way to remove pinstriping and graphics is to use a standard torch like the one for plumbing. Hold it far enough away that you do not burn the graphics. All you want to do is to heat it up and it will become very soft and peel easily. The glue will wipe off clean with acetone. If you need to use a razor blade, mark one side with a marker so that you always know which side to keep up and then draw the blade backwards a few times on a piece of glass or clean metal. Not your truck body! This will remove the burr from one side of the razor blade. This will help prevent the blade from digging in to the paint. You must start with a new blade only though. You should not need a razor though. Once you heat up the starting corner, just rub your thumb into it to get an lifting edge going. It should take you fifteen minutes to strip the box. I would not use the torch on glass though. You can hold an acetone soaked rag over the window sticker for a minute and it will soften the glue enough to get you going. Good luck!!!
  13. Ya this is a Canadian brochure, but nothing is really different. I was thinking of putting it on ebay!!! I am not that hard core for Comanche, but i do love my truck.
  14. Check this out guys. I got this with my truck. It is the original brochure from when my buddy bought my Comanche back in 89. Need and specs??? [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] :Canadaflag:
  15. Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking for one in the junk yards, cuz $300 is too much for a twice a year tow!
  16. Will a trailer hitch from a Cherokee fit on a Comanche without making any modifications? I was looking for a used hitch and around here they are hard to find for Comanche, but not for the Cherokee.
  17. I got an 89 short box recently and the rear end is starting to growl..... like a bearing is gone. Anyone had this problem and is it a managable fix or so i need to take it to a shop? $$? Thanks!
