  1. First off, it is missing for a reason. Are you sure it is the speed sensor? Have you tried the other avenues (i.e. plugs, timing, distributor, etc.)? I would hate to see you go through all that when you just have a fouled up plug...
  2. So..UPDATE! I figured out that I had plugged in the plug backwards when troubleshooting that little black box that the harness plugs into. That took care of the wiper and fluid issue. Now the only thing that doesn't work is the turn signals, and they are having the same issue (Hazards work, but go solid when pressing the brake)
  3. Multifunction switch? what's that? its an 89 manche eliminator.
  4. THere's a set on ebay right now...look nice too http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-amc-jeep-comanche-taillight-set-1992-1989-1988-1986-1990-1991-pickup-/110998533573?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19d80735c5&vxp=mtr
  5. I am having turn signal issues. They were working awesome, but then they just stopped working. No blinking on the dash, no nothing. Odd thing is that this started out as they stopped working, and then when I hit the brakes the brake lights wouldn't work BUT the turn signal indicators on the dash would light up SOLID and stay on (as if they were receiving the current from the brake circuit. Anybody know what's going on there? I have replaced the bulbs, wire wheeled the ground behind the driver's tail light, and checked the flasher units on the fusebox. I found out that the emergency flashers DO work but when you turn them on and hit the brakes the same thing happens..the indicators light up and stay solid! Now yesterday the wipers and wiper fluid stopped working as well. Coincidental that it is all on the same "cluster" or "switch" by the steering wheel....HELP!
  6. Any word on the turn signals?? I am having the same issues. They were working awesome, but then they just stopped working. No blinking on the dash, no nothing. Odd thing is that there WAS an issue before this where they stopped working, and then when I hit the brakes the brake lights wouldn't work BUT the turn signal indicators on the dash would light up SOLID and stay on (as if they were receiving the current from the brake circuit. 7. Title says it all. This is the underside of a 1989 Comanche with the 4.0L I6 and a BA tranny. There is a sensor that is not plugged in to anything, and a wire with two plugs that is coincidentally not plugged in to anything as well. What is it and which wire goes to which terminal? Thanks! 8. So I am having some odd problems after reinstalling my fuse box and reinstalling my interior (did my floors and had to take it out to get the rust away from it). When the parking brake is on, the brake light is off. When I release the brake, it comes on. Also, the headlight knob works fine to pull to turn on the lights, but when I turn it clockwise to turn on the gauges it dims them instead of intensifying them...it's like everything is backwards! Also, I lost my chime somehow at the same time.. I can't figure out what happened here...
  9. Well, Here's another update. Not too much to see here, but I got some more stuff done. I got the transmission drained and new fluid put in. It was every bit as nasty as the brake fluid was...maybe more so. Tranny shifts great now. Smooth as butter. During my test drive, however, I noticed some weird stuff. First off, the dash lights dimmer is operating backwards (turn it couterclockwise to brighten). I have no idea what is going on there..but I can only guess some wires are hooked up backwards. The same thing is going on with the the parking brake light. When the brake is on the light is off, but when I take the brake off the light turns on  Anybody know what is going on there? I also got the bumper taken off cuz it's nasty. I painted it with my new best fried: rustoleum spray can bedliner. The texture is awesome, and I ran a test for durability and its very durable. Sweet. Image Not Found Image Not Found More pics of the bumper finished and on the truck are coming this week. I'm still trying to find a new set of side view mirrors, which are quite elusive! Really, I would only need the driver's side..not exactly a tall order. For some reason I cannot find one though. Odd.

  11. Not really sure, but I can tell you that I have had a couple guys offer to sell me sets at $20/pair+shipping. Compatibility has been the issue, however. Do you have some? I PMd ya.
  12. From what I understand you need the MJ seat mounts, then drill them for the XJ buckets. I wouldn't know, I have MJ buckets and want a bench!!
  13. The JY around here are rediculous! They want insane prices for their stuff, and besides that I couldnt find an XJ or comanche with intact mirrors! I PMd you just in case.
  14. I am in desperate need of a set of cheap side view mirrors for the MJ. The ones that are on the truck are broken. The cable adjustment doesnt work, and the mirrors just hang in the housing as a result. I need a cheap set so that I feel better about the wife's safety while driving this beast! Thanks!!!
  15. Updated with more pics in the OP!!!Oh, what fun..
  16. I'll check it out tonight! Yea I did take your advice. Can't stay away now ;)
