  4. haha yea i wanted to make the jump in ratio after i read about it, also i know nothing about the speedo gear kinda out of my comfort zone with the rear end swap
  5. the gear ratio going in is a 3.55 it had a ratio of 3.07 (keep in mind I'm 2wd) also thanx for the pics gives me a good idea about what the soa would be like, very helpfull
  6. not prepared what so ever...for any of that. it would be too much stress on the front end to raise just the back that much huh? and i totally forgot i had to move the perches over anyway if i went soa. i apologize for this ignorance :doh:

  8. so I'm still sizing this situation up and i think i am going to go soabut if i do will the shock mounts on the 8.25 hook up with the stock commanche shocks? they look close but not sure how to tell untill its in there
  9. by the way I'm only 2wd!!! and hesitent to go soa but may do it anyway dunno yet i just got my chryco 8.25 and started pb blasting it, every part of the brakes are fuct! rusted solid any cheap solutions or any body know what a disc brake changeover would entail? a bit more work than i hoped for and the jy i went to wouldnt sell one to me with the brakes on based on a liability issue...scumbags ive also noticed i can't swap over the brakes off the d35 that wouldve been too kool thanks in advance

  11. ok i just answered my own questions via some investigative research sorry to have "freaked out" i found a very reputable place in south windsor ct and is called advanced driveshaft services and have read nothing but glorious reviews about them ill be going by later today to verify
  12. how much u think some driveshaft work would be? and do transmission shop do that? I'm on a limited budget and would love to get on the road this weekend and to work on monday

  14. just ripped out my d35, first rear end job ever for me, and so far its going well! the only thing I'm not to thrilled about was i had to cut my ebrake. it was jimmy rigged already, and poorly done, but i digress. i ended up getting chryco 8.25 out of a 97 cherokee which should be here tomorrow morning and thats when the fun starts! any helpfull info we didnt go over yet u think i should know aside from the perch welding

  17. ive got a 87mj 4.0 5spd 2wd with a broken dana 35 in it the gear ratio is 3.07 and I'm looking for an upgrade. lemme know what you got specificaly I'm looking for a Chrysler 8.25 or a ford 8.8 but not trying to change the ratio if i don't have to
