  1. they don't exist in the UK. I am getting a donor XJ, will see what my welder guy can do with the roof out of that.
  2. The gutters are bubbling & starting to get holes in mine. Would like to replace the whole roof panel if possible, if I am going to spend money on spraying it up I don't want rust creaping back in a couple of years.
  3. I have found a few places that supply body panels on the web but would rather have a recommendation as it ain't easy for me to send crap stuff back! I need a roof panel & I suppose floor repair panels (could patch but I want it done correctly) Who does the best quality panels? thanks
  4. Seems it was at Florida State Uni in 1992. Need to see if I can find its history.
  5. Its arrived, better than I expected, rear bed is in VGC, roof is scaby but knew that, chassis is solid with no rot. Driving into my storage container with no brakes and a foot handbrake was..err....exciting. Tucked away for a month now while I make plans
  6. I got lazy & weighing up the fuel costs I decided to get it delivered so for the cost of my fuel money plus £50 I save myself a days driving to pick it up. Arrives tomorrow afternoon, more pictures to follow  Is now a good time to admit I have never seen an MJ in the flesh let alone driven one :D
  7. why :dunno: LHD to me is just a PITA. A friend imports Porsches from Japan & they always buy LHD over there as a status thing, I just think its a bit
  8. Not at all, you'd have to reverse through the drivethroughs :D
  9. piccies off the ebay ad
  10. Okay, I am getting ahead of myselt here anyway, I don't know what condition the springs are in on the truck. Anyone know who supplies stock MJ springs who ship to the UK? I think just SOA on stock will do what I want
  11. okay, so are XJ & MJ springs a similar arch. IE putting a stock XJ spring in SOA will lift the back the same amount as the thickness of the axle?
  12. am I going to get flamed for painting it this colour with black trim & a black bed liner?
  13. Off to pick my rear D44 that has been living in a mates yard for a while. Also getting a set of JK 18" takes offs which will go onto my Grand to free up a set of rims to go onto the MJ. I am thinking a set of 17" Silverblade 3's to go with the modern look I am giving the truck. With a set of 265-70-17 ATs thrown on them
  14. Sorry if a dumbass question but I have never seen an MJ in the flesh yet(!) Why are the MJs AOS not SOA as per an XJ? I am not going to find MJ parts this side of the pond, and I am collecting a D44 axle tomorrow & want to sort out the springs asap (my truck arrives next saturday) so I can get the rear end sorted. I am after a 3" lift on it (maybe 4 on the rear) so what should I do? Will a 2" lift spring off an XJ and a SOA setup on my axle give me the lift I want? Help out an MJ virgin please
  15. don't tease me!! this is the info I ready need before I chop it about. PICTURES PLEASE!!
  16. Just about to start the same job myself. What are you doing to mod the front bulkhead? I haven't got the XJ MJ stripped down next to each other so unsure what is going to be the easiest solution to swapping all the holes over.
  17. think I will just cut out the firewall from the XJ and either use it as a template over the MJ on or cut the left & right parts out & weld in the MJ one, will see which is easiest
  18. Well after 8 XJs, 2 Wjs & a TJ I have finally found a MJ in the UK. Its very much a project jeep but they are so few and far between in the UK I had to get this one. I haven't even seen it yet, all I know its a 1990 4litre 2wd. I have already sourced a 98 XJ for a parts car. Plan is to transfer all the running gear from the XJ, inc converting it to RHD, 4wd & auto plus the interior, front end & door swap! Not much work then! Oh and I am doing an axle swap too, just because I have a set of WJ variloc LSD axles lying around off a 3.1TD WJ, so they are geared with 3.91 ratios. I only plan a 3" lift and 31"s so should be spot on gear wise, plus I get bigger brakes and a disk rear end. Watch this space, off to collect the thing a week saturday
