I did a full tune up about two weeks ago. It's definitely getting fire. I haven't checked the exact fuel pressure with a gauge but i bumped the ignition a few times with the regulator off and it was shootin out pretty good, but I'm no mechanic thats why I'm on here lol oh and what and where exactly is a ballast resistor.... I'm a newbie?

I was headed to school this mornin and it randomly started spittin and died. Now it'll start but won't run no more than a few seconds. I pulled it home and replaced the fuel filter and pressure regulator, and the fuel pump was replaced a few months back, but it still won't run. Any suggestions? BTW it's the 4.0.

Thanks guys... the vaccuum hoses still looked good, they were just simply unhooked. lol i got her fixed tho

Thanks ya'll... I see how it all works now. But this is my daily driver so.... if i permanently fix the CAD will it affect my gas mileage? Also, even though you're not powering the front drivetrain like that, it seems like that would be a lot of wear and tear if those parts are constantly engaged.

I decided to try out the 4wd for the first time the other day so I stop, drop her in 4L, creep off and the first log I come up to I notice the front tires aren't pullin at all... What could it be? Oh and save the negative comments, I'm no mechanical guru. lol Thanks

Well it's manual but yes.... i've checked oil the gear oil levels and they were good.

Once my drivetrain gets up to temperature it makes a whining sound when accelerating. Almost sounds lik when you reverse too fast. It also stutters when lettin out the clutch in first gear. Thanks

Yeah that's about what i figured... I've searched every junkyard in a 200 mile radius. Guess I'll just fab my own. Thanks

I have an 88 five speed 4wd and I'm trying to find the plastic piece that houses the shift boot and 4wd handle. Mine's broken and just flops when I shift, and I can't find it anywhere... oh and it's a bench seat so it's not the "console" all the websites advertise.

Well I've got two inch blocks in the front and shackles in the back... can I add coils in the front and leafs on the back to add more? And would I have to get extended brake lines and drop the transfer case? I'm new to this stuff, but after a little seaching i like the looks of 33s on these trucks.

I'm almost done with my 88 comanche and my budget is gettin low so I went with a cheap 2 inch lift and was gonna put 31x10.5 on it but i've found a great deal on some 33x12.5s that i hate to pass up. Will they fit and will it look decent? BTW the wheels I have are 15x8s with 3.75 BS. Oh and this is an "around town truck"... won't be used for anything extreme for a while.
