  1. Sold it about a month ago. Ebay buyer from PA Area paid 710 for it. I think something happened to the rear axle , anyway I had to have it towed home then threw it on ebay , Because My Grand Parents don't have the Patience or understanding to let me work on it in there driveway. ( I live with them)
  2. Maybe not ? IDK I thought They were Carbed ? All I know is that it was swapped to an early 90's Cherokee Motor.
  3. 1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer Originally the Carbed 4.0, Now a F.I 4.0. Swap Not Performed by me. Puegot 5-speed NP231 T-case Maroon/Redish Inside and out Currently In Hudson Valley Area , Ny Registered and on the road, and currently a Daily Driver (barley) in need of quite a bit of Restoration. and Electrical Issues out the ying yang 4.56 Ring and pinion in the Rear end with Unkown Ratio in the Front. Rusted Floor boards, Large Dent on the bed on the outside Passenger side. Frame is holding together. Aftermarket Speedo, No power to Radio, and lots of other stuff, Currently A/c is not operational. 4. @Geonovast Yes I have and am Actively Considering that, But I personally Think a Cheaper alternative would be just Get a Stock Ratio Axle in the rear. I'm pretty Sure Stock Ratio can handle 33's. 4.10 Stock axles would be nice, but I'm probaly Not gonna Be able to find any locally for a good price, I'm trying to save a lot of my money so I can move Back to Florida Plus I'm also Dealing with Electrical issues on this truck, But I'm Making Progress In those issues.
  5. Do you think it would Be easier to just go get a Stock Ratio Axle from the junk yard? It sounds like its a helleva lot cheaper. I mean My Dad Ran 33's on Stock Axle Ratios on a Wrangler for thousands of miles...
  6. When I bought My truck the people who had it before threw 4.56 Gearing in the rear, and didn't do the front. I have the ring and pinion and some other misc. parts related to it. I was just Hoping to get the ring and pinion in so I could Do some 4 wheeling before i Moved away from new york and back to florida. I was gonna try to do that without spending much money, but I guess that is not going to happen because the general consensus seems to be.. "Its a pain in the a** if you even get it right " and " It cost out the teeth to pay someone?". I'd much rather fix it at a later date when I have a little extra money that I don't need to save. Thanks For reinforcing what I thought.
  7. No takers huh? lol okay then Looks like its one of those "Leave it to the professionals" moments. doubt I can afford the labor though
  8. Does anyone know a Good Resource for swapping the Front axle Ring and pinion, and the tools required? Thanks I'd like 4 wheel drive in my truck lol
  9. Thanks guys . It seems the Electrical Gremlin is going to win this one. My engine is out of a 95' Cherokee so I've been at the junk yard ripping out a chassis harness and engine harness and am going to put it in my truck. I don't have time to do it the fun way, its a DD. Thanks For your help , oh and by the way I am going to pick up one of those meters...
  10. First off I want to thank Everyone for helping me out last time with my Speedo Problem. It was a simple fix, but I'm a D.A and make things harder then they should be. Now I don't even know what I need help with. Let me real quick ask if anyone has a chassis wiring harness for a comanche with the fuel injected 4.0, Labeled as well? I have a 1988 , but the engine was swapped with a F.I engine out of an early 90's Cherokee and thats where the beauty ends... Wires everywhere.... some go to this some go to that some start nowhere and end nowhere. I have to flick switches here and there to make it run lol. So my running lights are hooked up to a switch. well One day I decided to try and replace a light that hasn't worked since i had the truck, so Here I am replacing the Bulb and a peice of metal falls out of the socket thing, so I try to replace it to the best of my ability and think nothing of it. with the new bulb it still did not work ( something to do with the metal maybe, because I swapped bulbs the other day and it worked fine) anyway after I did that My rear running lights gave me the finger and decided not to work. Tried everything I could think of and nothing worked. So I looked at my fuse ( which is an inline one now) and swapped it with another 20 Amp one and blew the swapped one so I threw a 30 amp one in, it blew. So I threw a 40 in it did not blow, but I forgot that " There are two ends on a peice of string" and let the power go through my 20 amp switch with a 40 amp fuse, well to say the least I melted the switch. my question is Why would my switch all of a sudden be drawing more then 20 amps of power when it didn't do so for months working like that? Thats not the only electric issue but its enough of one lol. also would a chassis harness out of an early 90's cherokee work? I mean I 'm sure it would have extra connections and stuff? I don't know It's my daily driver so it kind of helps if my lights work so I don't get a ticket :/
  11. What I think it is , is like what you said you did. I think I need a Speedo Gear with a longer shaft, because I think that the one that was on the electrical Sender Was to short to reach the cable inside of the housing, So I found a place that sells the long shaft versions and I ordered one. So I will See if it works when it gets here which I'm now pretty sire it will. Thanks Pete
  12. Thanks, Um When I pulled out my electrical Unit It Had the Orange Gear , but with the Short Shaft. Do I need a new Gear then? Because I Finally got it all hooked up and went about 12 Mph and it didn't read :/ Did you have to Swap to a Bigger Shaft like the one in the middle of your Picture? I hate to sound like a newbie to this , but I am. If so Where could I find one of those? Thanks.
  13. Sorry to be a pain, but Do you know where I can find a sender? I called Car Quest and the guy said they don't even stock the part. I did a quick look online , but came up with nothing. I'll Go More in depth in my search when I have time, But if you could Save me the trouble? Our JY Doesn't have any Jeeps of similar years, with the Mechanical Gauges and Units. Thanks
  14. Alright thanks, I went down and popped out the electric sender, and tried my mechanical sender, I think I need a new one. So Thanks for the help , You saved me a big headache. I'll post back when I get it working.
  15. Thank You for your welcome , I know Its out of an early 90's Cherokee, Is there anyway I can figure out a specific year? And yeah I have an Electric Sender , with a mechanical speedo but I Have the Cable, and its been hanging from the bottom of the truck for who knows how long. When I have a day off from work I'll Have to Try and take out the electric sender and attach the mech speedo cable. Thanks for that info. I feel like a :dunce: Lol
  16. Alright Not sure if this is the right place to post or not. I Just bought a 1988 Jeep Comanche 4x4 long bed in a marooninsh color with 33x13.50 toyo open countries for 1300$. I'd been wanting a comanche for quite a while but Now I'm kinda stuck. It needs a little work, The people before the people I bought it from Swapped out the stock Engine and maybe the Trans and Transfer case too? to the newer 4.0. It runs like a champ, but My speedo doesn't work, and few other things are not "Right" but work for now. My main thing is I want my speedo working because I live in Nazi York now and they have this crappy thing called Vehicle inspection. So I have a Mechanical Gauge, and have wires coming from my transmission and Transfer case (Which one does the speedo go too?) So I went down to the JY and got a Cluster from a newer cherokee . and thats where I am at lol.
