  1. so my mj started out 4cyl 2x 4 speed. I made it 4x4 5speed, swapped the rear for a locked 4.10 8.8, and a matched 30 front. then put the 4.0 ho and an ax15 and a 231 a few years ago. now the head is either cracked or just blew the gasket, and the harnesses that i got from the donor XJ were not that great. someone had kind of hacked them up. I pulled the harnesses and the engine last night and am going to pull the 96 XJ i just picked up apart today so...... if someone has been down this road before and knows of some issues i might run into please let me know. I know the pilot bearing is different in the later years. I know the fuel system has changed a bit. I'm going to build a line i've got the russel adapters to go to jic, but will the pump from the 96 XJ go into the MJ thanks for any help
  2. yeah i got the x-member and its in the furthest holes back. i got the 4.0 harness i had to hook a come alog to the front for the engine to get the x-member bolted up it seems like the engine frame mounts sit to far back still????
  3. new to the site looking for a little help i have a 88' sport truck that started life as a 2.5 4 speed 2wd. i first put a front axle under it and a 5 speed and np 207 that i picked up of CL. then lifted it did an 8.8 swap. just recently i picked up a running 91' 4.0 speed with a busted up rearend 4 200 bux so i pulled my motor trans and t-case to make so room. then tried to bolt the engine in with the original frame mounts no worky of coarse the 91 already went to the crusher. so i went to the bone yard and picked up so mounts off the first 91+ 4.0 i found with the engine out bolted then in and the engine bolted in but looked a little to far back then i installed the trans and it seems to be sitting 2-3 inches to far back i cannot bolt up the trans x-member do i have the wrong mounts? i don't know. sorry for the long story but i figure the more you know the easer it will be to help thanks.
