tried a couple things it will start if we push it off and dump the clutch and stays running ?? any help would be appreciated

hello i have a 1988 mj that is having a ignition problem it will turn over fine but no fire wondering if this is a common occurance or do i have a problem within the ecu any help or previous threads will help

i also forgot to mention that the altenator looks brand new unknown if it is or not

my 88 4.0 mj is acting up it seems like it won't get fuel and just go dead at times while driving or idle at stop sign and my battery keeps going dead i replaced the battery and the fuel filter i go outside to go to work and the brand new battery is dead ? ? any help is greatly appreciated
