So, I'm new to this site, and MJs but not new to Jeeps. I've had several wranglers (3 TJ, 2 JK, and 1 XJ) I've wanted an MJ for a long time and finally came into one. I retired from the Army last year and my wife got this guy for me from a neighbor. It was the former owner's project Jeep, so not much is actually installed.
If you could build an MJ from scratch (which I kind of am), keeping as many stock Jeep (don't care what model, just don't want overpowered aftermarket upgrades) parts as possible. To be used as a street queen with minor off-roading (body can't handle it anymore). What would you consider the best to install, from what model Jeeps and why? For instance, I pulled an almost complete radiator / cooling system from a 2001 XJ. Only thing I didn't think to grab as the cross brace on top of the radiator that holds in.
I currently have:
4.0 I6
Manual transmission
Transfer Case
Cooling system (with additional electric fan)
Miscellaneous interior / exterior parts.
Things I would like:
The stance (mentioned below)
4-wheel disc brakes
Mostly stock looking interior, with bench seat
Most stock looking exterior
Automatic but not required
I love the stance it currently has (without the motor though). The front is a Dana30, the rear, I'm not sure but the previous owner said he put it in just to be able to move the Jeep. I'll need a new rear diff. I'm not opposed to that being another brand (Ford 8.8 for instance).
I'm not the best at writing up builds but I can try, if anyone is interested.
