It was running for years (not sure how many but longer then 5 years for sure)with the ballaster bypassed and the yellow wire tied in like that. It started running really rough one morning so I changed tps, idle control, map and knock sensor and did a tune up. Plugs showed it was running rich which I knew. Tested my fuel pressure it showed 9 lol so I just changed that now I'm about to put fuel back in. Figured I would put the ballast resistor back in since I was able to find one and discovered the random yellow wire hahaha and now thats where I'm at.

Ok so I'm going to post a pic so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Tried to post a video to show you the wiring they have going on but the file is to large. So as you can there's a wire cut at the clip (this is under my dash on the drivers side) and the yellow wire you can see spliced in goes thru my firewall and was wired into my ballaster resistor also shown in pics What exactly is that thats been cut, like what is that clip for? The deeper I get into this truck the worse its getting 🤦🏻♀️

Lower control arms

Thank you so much for the advice, it almost worked but I just can't get it to bend enough, had every ounce of strength I got into it and still wasn't enough lol. Gonna give it a couple days and try again. Knuckles are getting a bit sore from excessive bashing hahaha -

Lower control arms
90comanchegirl replied to 90comanchegirl's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They don't have the same ends. I called my local part store and he said there are 2 different kinds and it doesnt depend on 2wd or 4wd not real sure what it depends on maybe the year? ... but the kind that's like the old ones that i took out (you can see in the pic) it its smooth on either side where rhe bolts go thru and then the new ones they sent have almost like knobs that stick out a good 1/3 inch on either side. If you zoom into the pic you can see the difference. I strapped my axel in place and it hasn't moved. It's the actual width of the control arm vs the bracket that's off not the measurement from axel to bracket. Lol I hope that makes sense -
Hey guys I'm in need of some help. Pretty new to the world of rebuilding front ends and to the world on comanches. I'm currently replacing lower control arms...they came out better then expected but now trying to get the new ones is seeming impossible. Are the control arms different between a 4wd and a rwd? My truck is rwd. When I look at the specs for them it doesn't specify 4wd or rwd. I'm just so lost!! Please help!

1990 comanche eliminator 4.0L 5 speed manual RWD With bench seat. Manufactured by jeep eagle Corp. Build date 03 /90 Located in central Saskatchewan, Canada I am the 4th owner of the truck. It was bought by a young man brand new in Northern sask. He kept it and passed it down to his son. My dad and I looked it and decided we wanted to rebuild it in 2020. My dad passed less then a year after and it was then passed to me. I have it registered. It's driven almost daily, still needs a lot of work but piece by piece its getting done.

Rough country steering stabilizer.

Really?? Ok so question for you, on the top part above the tierod end type bolt, what torque did you set it at? I've had mine in for 2 days now and i absolutely love it so far, But that torque part baffled me as I didn't get any instruction sheet with it except the sheet that told me to look at the instructions for proper torque settings lol -

Rough country steering stabilizer.
90comanchegirl replied to 90comanchegirl's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's a daily driver but where I live in canada the roads are garbage all year and our winters are terrible with a ton of snow so I want the best handling I can get. Most of the steering parts I've put on are moog. I'm doing suspension next and need something that can handle all the rough driving, I was planning on going with rough country parts for that. If you have a better idea I'm all ears. -
Hey everyone, I have a 1990 eliminator, in line 6, RWD. 5 speed manual, mostly stock except has a massive k&n air filter and has cherry bomb exhaust. When I say this truck is in rough shape I mean rough shape lol its a complete rebuild. I just got my new rough country N3 steering stabilizer, has anyone used one before what are their thoughts?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and also a fairly new comanche owner. I have a 1990 eliminator, rear wheel drive, 5 speed manual. She's in some rough shape but it was my dad's, he passed a couple years ago and I finally have to time and means to make his dream for it come to life. I'm basically learning as I go, I knew the basics coming into this but there's a lot of new learning curves for me starting with the fact that most of the parts were original (removing 35 year old ball joints was intereting to say the least). Finding this forum has been a life saver, you all have helped me so much already!! So thank you for that!!
