  1. Hey Gang, So I’ve been tinkering with my jeep and I’ve gotten the ignition system functioning however it still will not spark. I’ve checked the timing, replaced the coil, rotor bug, distributor cap, and crank shaft position sensor, along with making sure the wiring is set. Looking for suggestions or other potential issues I should check!
  2. Yes. One of the trouble shoots I did was replace the CPS so it’s functional.
  3. So I’ve been looking through forums, at new stock, and also discussing with backyard mechanics to determine if my distributor is missing components and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not? Curious if someone with a little more experience than I have can explain how this functions with such minimal components. Listed is a photo of the distributor set up for the 2.5l with tbi. Currently I am not getting fire to the plugs so I have tested the coil (it works), in the process of getting a new rotor and cap, but I’m curious if I’m missing something.
  4. Hey everyone, so I’m working on my 86’ 2.5l 4 cylinder and the wiring is a big of a mess. Today I finally hooked power up to it to start testing wires. According the the 6 and 15 pin diagnosis I only have the 2 and 5 (ignition switch and battery) on the 6 pin and 2 and 4 on the 15 pin (the B+ batch relays). I’m curious if a bad ignition switch would prevent relaying power?
  5. Thanks for the wiring guide and tips!
  6. Seems to be the left side of the engine bay. Haven’t pin pointed exactly everything so far. There’s a harness in the passenger side of the engine back that’s got some nibbles gone.
  7. Just bought a 1986 Comanche with the 2.5l 4 cylinder that had a mouse/squirrel/ rat living in the engine bay for a big. I’ve got the owners manual but I have not be able to find a wiring diagram for the engine bay. Every manual I’ve found has the chassis wiring but no engine compartment. Any other pointers on the rebuild would be appreciated!
