  1. I suppose I could wrap mechanics wire, annealed around it for the time being until I figure it out. Will give me good reason to replace the old rusty spool of wire. Doesn't appear to have a whole lot of space to allow for a clamp between the pipe and skid.
  2. Cruiser, thank you kind sir!! I believe you might be spot on there. I haven't had a great deal of spare time but it is getting worse. I don't think that exhaust hanger is there. This picture is from the back, looking front correct?
  3. I noticed the bellhousing is removable, making it aw4 I believe. Thank you for your help, experience :-)
  4. Great! Thank you for the reply with info on the t case and skid. I don't yet know which transmission was used. It's automatic behind 4.0 in 1990 MJ Pioneer.
  5. Hello, new to the forum; and I hope I'm posting in the right area. I recently picked up a 90 Comanche Pioneer to add to my Jeep family and one thing I noticed is the transfer case "hovering" behind the transmission mount. Is this correct from the factry? Seems a lot of weight and torsional force hanging off the end of the transmission & that mount without some kind of support. Is the transfer case designed to rest on the skid plate? The transfer case in my YJ, for instance rests on the skid plate. Has the flat area on the skid plate been bent and misaligned? I was also wondering if maybe the PO clocked the transfer case, although I don't think the NP231/242 can be clocked. Also, when I start the truck I get a quick knock sound that repeats with revs and right-hand turns. It seems to be coming from somewhere in the transmission tunnel, right side. Any experiences? Thank you in advance!
