  1. Thanks, Pete. That’s what I needed.
  2. How do I update the signature? Is that the best place add details about my truck?
  3. I have the stock bottle & mount from a ‘96. Just trying to figure out the cleanest way to do it. Your looks good and leaves lots of room to get oil filter.
  4. Fun, fun,,, we are doing the same thing to my son’s truck. We got him an ‘88 that has a remanufactured 4.0 from a ‘95. In the process of adding air conditioner and converting to open cooling. I already have him doing cruiser 54’s “list”. How is your reservoir bottle mounted? What kind of bottle is it?
  5. What about sourcing a newer style bracket for idler? I left the one on the ‘96 at the junk yard not quite thinking it all through🤦🏻
  6. That’s one of my concerns. I have the newer style (‘96) evaporator, expansion valve and dryer that I bought new. I wouldn’t be opposed to buying new hoses and the older style expansion valve, dryer and compressor if need be. I just want it to be done the most efficient way.
  7. Would you recommend using an ‘88 style compressor? It would allow for the pulley. This things starting to feel like a Johnny Cash song….. one piece at a time😂
  8. That’s what we did so far, now we will have to reroute the belt(?). The belt from the ‘88 won’t clear the thermostat and hoses the way it was. Is there an alternate way to route it?
  9. Here we go, been searching, but haven’t found the answers. We are adding a/c to 1988 4.0 that has a remanufactured Jasper in it from a 1995. We got the whole system out of a 1996 minus the under hood wiring and correct idler pulley. Learning quick how parts changed year to year. The “dilemma” we are in is the 1996 compressor doesn’t mount the same as the 1988. There isn’t a idler bracket on the power steering side. Would it be better to buy a 1988 style compressor, or try to source a idler bracket from a later model? I don’t mind buying the compressor, as this one is already older from a junkyard. We already replaced heater core and evaporator under dash. Any suggestions?
