Hello Everyone, I recently bought an '88 2WD Comanche with a 4.0L and I'm pretty sure the Peugot 5-speed trans. It runs alright, starts off a little rough when cold but after it's warm it idles steady at 700RPM and runs very smooth. After I got it I immediately started doing basic maintenance. Spark plugs and an oil change. I noticed the serpentine belt had a small squeek so I changed that out along with the smooth idler pulley. Anyway, after I replaced those things and tensioned the new belt, it seems like my squeek has turned into a full-blown squeel. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the water pump. Shopping online I'm noticing these water pumps come with different hub sizes? Is that right? Is there an easy way to identify which one I have without removing it from the engine first? I'll probably go ahead and do the grooved idler pulley as well when I get to doing the water pump replacement. Appreciate any insight yall can give me. These trucks are so cool!
