I am starting the project of my 1988 MJ, and we are in the process of disassembly for paint and mods. I have an old (to me) type of doing restoration of restoring pieces as I can AS THEY COME OFF so they are ready when re-assembly starts. That means I figure out the paint scheme- first. I went through the Comanche of the month pics for inspiration, saw some cool stuff. I know there where some big factory "call outs/Lettering" from that era, but I haven't seen many good pics of it. This is one of my favorite jeep projects I have, so this one is going to get some TLC. Plans for a 606 merc turbo diesel with about 350-400 Hp is sitting on the engine stand right now. I am pretty sure I am going with red as the base color at this point, it is originally white with gray interior. Keeping the gray interior I think. I think there were like "macho" or "comanche" call out's yeah? Also "4x4" or something? Please post pics of your favorite paint ideas for the truck?

Always wanted one- got one. It's a "freebie"- hauled it over to East side of Big Island Hawaii from Kona side. No trans, free and clear title, total frame off needing project. Plans 4" lift, 31" tires, 606e Mercedes Diesel conversion. I already have AX 15 for the swap. Will post pics later, thought this would be a good intro- it's a 1988 White long bed 4x4, original 4cyl 5 speed.
