  1. Someone backed into me with a hitch before I lifted it so its cracked. Once I paint the truck I have a new one and fender to put on lol ty though hahaha
  2. Ok thank you for the replys. I had a couple people tell me about the ax15. I've been told about a few like the Borg warner t5, or the aisin. I'm just not 100% on what I should choose. I need something that's easy to find and reliable. Dosent have to be anything over the top, It's a daily driver/ offroad show so half and half.
  3. I have an 1988 mj Eliminator with a 6.5 long arm x flex RC lift with 35" tires. When I bought it, it was a 2 wheel drive straight 6 with a 5sp pugi transmission. About a year ago I bought an 1991 mj straight 4, 5sp ax transmission 4x4 doner and pulled the front axle and all 4x4 components and put them on my 88 Eliminator. My issue is that the ax transmission out of the doner wouldn't bolt to my straight 6. Right now I have a lifted mj with all the 4x4 components on it ready to go but no transmission and t case. With covid going on parts were getting hard to find but now that things are getting back to normal I'm looking again. I would like to keep my truck a 5 sp if all possible. Please let me know what transmission you think would be best or any opinions on what I should be looking for. Dosent matter what it's out of as long as its sturdy and reliable.

  5. That was my thought as well. My hope is that over the past year of driving is that all the new bolts and parts have settled and it all just needs re tightened. Thank you for the help and info.
  6. They are rubber with brass centers if that's what your asking? All new. Every piece of suspensions is new from front to back steering and all.
  7. About a year ago I installed a rough country 6.5 long arm x flex and 35" tires on to my 88 mj eliminator. After about 5 or 6 months of normal driving nothing crazy or offroad, it has started making a popping noise when I hit any bump or small hole on the front drivers side. The noise is not super alarming, or loud more of a nuisance every time I drive. It seems to happen more and louder when I go to make a left handed turn and hit a pot hole at the same time. Now i did the install myself and everything is torqued an done by the books. I have looked over everything and nothing seems to be wearing wrong or seem out of place. My question is is there a break in period after install on the lift? Should I go back over everything and re torque it all? Could it be that the control arm bushings settled and need re tightened? Any input would be a great help. Thank you all for any help.
