  1. I checked that vacuum hose and is connected... also i checked to see if there was any cracks or holes in any of the hoses and couldn't find any... the only thing that i can think that it could be is the fuel pressure regulator
  2. i'm going to check the vacuum hose before i change the FPR.
  3. i think that i figured out what it is.. after doing some research. I have found that the symptoms that i am have with the truck happens with most that have a bad fuel pressure regulator. This is one of the forums that i was looking at and what they had to say: What happens when the Fuel Pressure Regulator starts to Fail? The most common issue is the spring-loaded diaphragm in the FPR. When it begins to fail, the excess fuel (being supplied by gravity and the fuel pump) are not returned to the tank. The result? Your fuel Mixture becomes incredibly rich. Symptoms include: -Poor MPG (15-30MPG) - check -Poor Performance - check -Fouled Spark Plugs -Strong Fuel Odor when running - check -Bogging down - check -Stalling - check -MAP Sensor Error (2 Flashes) -Exhaust 'Popping' -Non-standard and erratic engine temperatures - check -Cool Exhaust Gas Temperatures -Gas in Oil -Difficult to start - check -Low/Erratic idle speed. - check "check" issues that i'm having.
  4. Hello all, I have installed the 4 port fuel injectors referenced from this forum: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7770 The problem that i have encountered is that after i installed them, There is a loud vacuum sound from the engine, when running. Which was not there before. I'm not sure if i damaged the fuel pressure regulator or if something else has happened. Has anyone had this issue after installing fuel injectors? Also, i was told that when i installed the injectors, the truck would not idol as high... but, the idol now caused me to stall on the highway when i was in traffic. It started right back up, just worried that it's going to be more frequent now. Is there any other adjustments that i need to do?? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  6. [quote name="88pioneer" I got mine from here http://eshocks.com/bilweb/bilsite.asp?B ... inhome.htm I went here and there is no option for a Commanche MJ. i'm not sure if the front end is lower. does it come like that stock? and if so, i guess i would like to level out the front. Sorry for not knowing... i am very new to this forum and working on my truck
  7. I would like to add a 2" lift... not really sure what i need to do..
  8. I have a 88 MJ 4x4 i6 4.0l and am looking around for shocks... I wen to Bilstein, Re mono and OEM to see what was available... can't find anything. Does anyone have any advice or links for shocks? Maybe some good deals? I think that i have the original shocks still installed... very rusted..
  9. I have an 88 and installed a 40 Series Delta Flow - Two Chamber Muffler http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/searc ... &sc3=&sc4= It sounds great! :clapping: It's not as loud as the audio clip on the website, but it has a nice rumble to it... As for difference... i have noticed it. I did a cold air intake and the muffler and have notice a drastic difference in horsepower and torque... I have a i6 with 205k miles under her belt. I would say get the flowmaster. I paid $90 for it... well worth it
  10. so i did some testing and found that the front left blinker pigtail was bad... So i replaced it and i turned my blinker on and is now working  , but then i turned the lights on with the blinker.... now it just stays on....no blinking :grrrr: Then I turned on the the 4-ways... the back flashers blink simultaneously and the front flashers blink offset. Has anyone had this issue?
  11. I just ordered my 4 port fuel injectors... going to install them next week..woohoo  I'm excited to see how much a difference they are going to make... From what i have been reading, they give you better gas mileage and better performance.
  12. Before I degrease the engine...Nasty oil leak After 2 cans removal of the valve cover bolts... keep them in order Holy freaking NASTY!!! Such a beautiful work of art The bushes sprouting filters Primer Painted with some detail on the trim Replaced the valve cover
  13. Did all of these things happen to you, when this happened?
  14. Hello all, I am having an issue with my left turn signal... When i put the turn signal on it doesn't blink... When i have the lights on and turn it on the left blinker light is just lite up and the front turn signal turns off and the back turn signal is just on(no blinking)... the front turn signal, when on (lights off) is very dim.... I turned on the flashers and they all blink, but the front left is still dimmer then the others... :hmm: I have seen other topics about this same issue, but never saw any resolution.... :fs1: I have the Chilton book... looked through it, but can't find any blinker wire diagrams... does any one know where i can get that? Or if you can offer any advise, that would be awesome! Another thing is, before the left blinker started to do this... the blinker was working, but no blinking as fast as the right blinker. truck info is in the signature thanks in advance
  15. Before i bought the truck, I believe that it sat without being started for a year or two... It took me a bunch of money to get it back up and running.... while i had it.... i had some issues with it and took a bit for me to get to back to a good state... Now that i'm working on it and not bringing it to the shop.. I am slowly geeting her back to 100%... I would think that it would be gummed up, just from that bit of history that i know about it... I will go and pick up some B12 Chemtool and give that a try... thanks for your help.... Here is my WIP viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23458
  16. I have some rust on the rocker panels, but i'm going to be getting at that in the next month.... I live in the city so it is hard for me to work on things like that. Besides that.... no rust
  17. I've had this truck for a couple years and just started working on it.... I don't know much about working on cars, but used to work on my 72 chevy nova when i was in high school... I didn't take pictures of the before.... but have the after. I removed the air filter and installed a AEM cold air intake. put together a custom box for the intake. I still need to put a over lip to prevent the hot air going straight to the intake.. Removed the hosing from the engine and did a custom cut down on a K&N cranck to fit in the valve cover opening. I have a crack in my coolant overflow bottle... I ordered it earlier in the week and just got it in the mail. Going to install it the begining of the week. The next project after that is going to fix the oil leak that i am having.... I need to replace the valve cover gasket... I'm going to remove the valve cover, degrease and paint it up. That is a project for 2 weeks from now.... I will keep posting updates during the next couple of weeks Here is my MJ :brows:
  18. OK yea... that is what i was talking about... so it is a fuel rail  . I'm pretty sure that it is gummed up. I don't think the previous owners ever did any work other then when something broke. It looks to me that almost everything on this truck is stock, besides what i have done to it
  19. I was told that the stock fuel injector for this model truck was a 2 port injector... I'm planning on getting these viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7770 .... Which is the upgrade for the fuel injector. But, i'm not trying to upgrage the manifold that is already housing the fuel injectors... is that what it is called...manifold? What I was told is, if i install a new one(not upgrade) i would get better performance.... is there any truth to this? If so i would like to replace it or clean it up if that will improve the performance.
  20. Yea i got one of the net for $39.06... not bad. The stores are asking $52 and change
  21. Aother post from the noob...LOL! Would anyone know if there is a fuel rail or a manifold that houses the fuel injectors? I was told that if i replaced that as well i would get better performance.... is that true? what is the right name for it so i can look it up and buy? I'm looking to replace my 2 port fuel injectors with the 4 port that have been posted in the forum. Thanks in advance MJ 88 Jeep Comanche 4x4 i6 4.0l
  22. thanks for the Part #.. helped to get a fairly priced one on the net....

I have been looking on the internet to find the right gasket, but am getting all kind of different gaskets and prices... prices are varying from $5 - $80, cork to rubber cork. I'm really not sure what is right or what is wrong.... Does anyone know what the right gasket is that i should get? where i can get it? thanks in advance -Mike
