  1. Thank you eaglescout526!!! Looking forward to restoring my truck and I am glad this forum exists!
  2. Hello. A couple months back I purchased my 1987 Jeep Comanche. This is going to be my project truck and want to restore it back to original condition. Still learning a lot about this truck and its components. I need to fix the following before making it my daily (especially driving at night): small oil leak but most importantly the dash and running taillights don't work. After I fix that I will work on the interior: sound proofing, new carpet, reupholster bench seat and head liner. Here is what I know about the truck: 215k miles/4.0L/5sp manual/sportuck short bed/4x4 not sure on the axles and was manufactured JUN 1987. I am in California, inland empire area.
  3. Hello everyone, My truck won't start after I replaced the engine lock cylinder and turn signal switch. The truck turned on with no keys and because that was broken, so decided to fix that. Funny thing is that it started after I finished installing the parts. In the last month I've replaced ignition coil, cables, spark plugs and distributer. I've attached some videos of the sounds it makes and the sounds it makes when I jump the starter: IMG_9550.MOV
  4. Thanks for the help! I was finally able to get to the engine noise and turns out that the pulley on the alternator was making all that noise.

  6. Thanks everyone, I am out of state for work but I will use a combination of all help to figure out where the noise is coming from.

  8. Thank you, I'll try that today and hopefully narrow down where the noise is coming from.
  9. Thanks for the feed back, I know it sounds confusing. It sounds like its from the back but I second guess my self because I recently replaced the power steering pump. Had to look up the screwdriver trick, but don't have a long enough screwdriver to even think of doing it.
  10. does anyone know what this noise is from? I recently purchased my truck. I started by replacing the power steering pump and pulley. It sounds like its coming from the rear but sounds like the belt is making the noise. IMG_9405.MOV
