1989 Comanche, 4.0 inline 6 w/ 110K miles, 4 speed auto column shift, 4x4, Long Bed Pioneer model, Medium Blue Metalic exterior light blue interior, bench seat =dealer added long bed bed liner with "Comanche" imprint =owner added aluminum bed canopy shell =Power/ comfort shift switch on dash =Dana 30 front, Dana 35 rear =Alloy slotted wheels (dealer added option?) I own it, daily driver in Oregon, body in good shape, mostly rust free? Future project/ upgrades coming soon. I'm the third owner ... original owner towed it behind a motor home so mileage is not actual "running" miles. Why have one Comanche when you can have two for twice ... errr three times the price?

Purchased new on O`ahu at the Jeep dealer, original owner used it to pull a small fishing boat, hence the rust. Thanks for all the details! That's her!

  5. My 89 MJ: 4.0, 4 spd Automatic on the column, 4x4, long bed,... lo_ line instrument gauge cluster; only large fuel gauge and speedo, lights for the rest ...The fuel gauge didn't work .... In the process of swapping in another one, the needle popped off! It won't go back in/ on. So I'm stuck ... No working fuel gauge! Aside from swapping in another gauge or upgrading to a different gauge cluster, are there good aftermarket (autometer?) Gauges that will work with a Jeep fuel pump/ level sending unit? I'm thinking of fabbing an entire gauge cluster with Autometer or similar reliable gauges. I understand I'll need to change oil & water sending units, what about ammeter and fuel? Thanks for any help, experiences you can share.
  6. Aloha from Hawai'i! New - renewed? MJ owner. I'll post it's pedigree soon. I'll be restoring it with a few mods ... maybe? 1st some questions for the entire forum/ club: How much of a similar vintage XJ Cherokee is reusable on an MJ? There are fewer and fewer of these trucks as you all know, however old Cherokee's are plentiful. Got parts? Next question: for the slightly modified group ... I'm thinking of fabing a front grill / headlight bezel to create a older J10 type grill with round headlights, turn signals and smaller/ narrower grill. Anyone done this or scene this done? More to come, glad to be here!
