  1. Ok got everything mostly figured out till I thought of something. I removed the mjs relay block and ignition system and put in the yjs block and ignition system for a better and cleaner look. Picture below is of the yjs diagram. I just need to connect the relay to the pump.(orange and black)and all should be good correct?
  2. Well looks like I'm just Gunna go and get xj harnesses. Finally figuring it out and was just trying to figure out why my radio stopped working on day. Burned up. Glad I caught it. This harness is so thrashed and hacked up I'm better of. Why o was trying to us the yj one....but ill bite the bullet. And prolly just grab a under hood harness too. Might as well.....
  3. Ok so I have everything stripped down and about to start eliminating stuff. I have a better understanding. But my next question is.... I planned on using the yj ignion setup and eliminating everything there. So can I eliminate everything off the mj body harness after the lights. I would just have to run a new constant for the lights to the small engine fuse block on the yj engine harness right? And keep the blower motor wiring
  4. It did have guages. That's why I was seeing if it was plausable to use the yj guages if it would make it easier. And originally I was talking about putting the mj wires into the yj fusebox because I thought the bulkheads we're wired differently but as I assumed I was over thinking the whole situation. I'm just overwhelmed with it. Iv done alot of wiring before but this is my first motor swap that isn't just stock motor. Except when the motor was stoked. But there was whole forums of info on it. It conserned me that noone does this and everyone tried steering me away. And from the looks it's not as complex as everyone made it out to be. Just got in my own head I guess my bad
  5. Ok. Are plugs the same? Say I left that on the yj engine harness and got the correct sensors and plugged them to the yj harness that would work?
  6. Well sir. Noone has explain the the idiot light cluster and the real guage cluster are plug and play. And everything I have seen they are not plug and play without the correct senders
  7. Ok so make a stand alone. And use the dash mj harness and only thing I won't have is gauges till I can get xj h.o dash harness and guages. I can live without for a bit on guages but need heat because winter is upon us.
  8. Nothing on tcase either. Everything was electronic on the guages. No cables
  9. My 92 is all electronic. Had zero cables coming out for the tranny. Only wires. And zero place to put a cable. It's 4.0 h o tf999 and np231
  10. So simpy use the yj engine harness and mj dash harness and all will be well. But I won't have the sender for oil and temp and no speedo the yj is electric speedo
  11. It's not a renix vehicle anymore that it's h.o. and I want to rid the dummy lights and have actual guages. For temp and oil and gas mainly. A speedo too. I understand that I can make the motor run simple. I guess I'm just not understand. I get what stand alone is. I guess I'm just not understanding if it's stand alone how would I run power to the fusebox. That's what I'm calling the bulkhead. When the engine harness 'enters the cab'
  12. That's what I'm saying. Or like I said maybe I'm overthinking it. So lets make this simple. If I use yj engine harness and the original mj dash harness. And plug them together at the bulkhead everything will be fine? I'm just getting mixed responses on all of this hence why I'm trying to simplify it and save myself a headache. Only thing at the point I won't have would be the guages then correct? And then down the line I get a h.o xj dash harness and guages everything will be good?
  13. Awesome. That's kinda what I was looking for. Then I can use xj dash harness to rid idiot lights. Do you know if the sensors will work from the yj. As long as I did 91-95 gen one h.o guages
  14. Iv been looking into that but I would just have to do it backwards correct? As it would be yj engine harness and mj dash harness
  15. So your suggesting useing the mjs original renix engine harness? How would that work with the simplified ignition system and sensors of the h.o?
  16. So It should just be plug and play to everything. I would just have to wire in blower motor and wipers ect as those are on engine side of mj And I have wiring diagrams. But not positive on approach. I was going to take the fusebox and put the mj interior wires in but like I said electrical isn't absolutely strong for me. I have basic understanding but I Wana do this correct
  17. Because the yj handles the the bulkhead connector differently. It runs everything to the bulkhead plus sensors where as the mj/ splits off in the engine bay. Unless I'm just over thinking this. My search is the same. Everyone put xj in yj. So I Wana see if anyone has done this or has insight on wiring. I could just be over thinking it. I could be wrong. I'd also like to know 100% before I just start connecting and frying things. I'm not bad with electrical but I like to know what I'm doing is right before I burn it down ect
  18. It would. But why take all the @#$% out of it. People claim they have done it but have yet to see a write up.
  19. That's kinda what I'm getting at. Like heater and lights and wipers i can basically splice the fuseboxes and make that work. Just take the wiring for it out of the mj box and replace it with the yj box. Maybe some h.o xj guages as mine are dummy lights. Basically it was one of those 'while I'm here's and it's spiraling out of control lol just wasn't sure if it was actually doable so I came here for insight. It would be cool to make it all appear stock. Will it be easy? Hell no. Doable? Eehhhhh
  20. It's a 90 mj. I just want basics. Bare bones. All lights. Wipers. Heat and guages but I was just going to use the guages as I have all the sensors. Just have to figure out fuel
  21. Do you know if xj engine harness would fit the yj motor without a headache?
  22. Thanks. That's what it's looking like. I was hoping there was a way I could just splice the heater and lights and such into the yj fosebox and just use what I have as getting to yards isn't easy for me
  23. Thanks. That's what it's looking like. I was hoping there was a way I could just splice the heater and lights and such into the yj fosebox and just use what I have as getting to yards isn't easy for me
  24. I'm sure this is on here but can't find it so sorry if a repost. But..... I'm doing a full swap from a 92 wrangler. Motor(stroked) tf999 and np231 from the yj. I'm stuck on wiring. The yj bulkhead handles everything different. Or maybe I'm overthinking it. So I thought to swap in the yj fusebox and dash wiring.(a plus because it was all basically brand new when I got it and the mj fusebox doesn't look to good). Well now I'm at an issue of making all the electronics work. I was just Gunna dash swap and column swap as I have a full donor. But my issue is with lighting. Heater. Blower motor. Wipers(easy) and such. Am I just causing more of a headache than worth? Can the yj bulkhead just plug into an mj fusebox? Funds are tight. Was planning on doing this swap when I was more prepared but blew the renix as it's my daily and stuck. Anyone else use a yj engine harness? Or am I better off getting a xj harness for inside and out to rid of dummy lights
  25. Ok got it running somewhat good. Indexed it again as per cruiser and put in a new CPS. Not backfiring and lagging anymore. I did notice on the way home that when in gear at a stop once in awhile it wanted to start to lag and shake the truck but would catch itself quick. Like a piston is bottoming or something. That's the best I can describe it....
