  1. Hey guys looking for some advice here. The spider gears in my 88 Comanche rearend are chewed up and there's lots of metal in the housing. (Told to me by my mechanic). What are my options here? Rebuild it? Possible swap for another axel? Also what costs should I expect going each route. It's the Dana 35. 5 speed tranny. With 3.07 gears I believe. Thanks
  2. Awesome thanks guys. And ya it is a 1988 MJ with the 4.0 and 5 speed.
  3. Hey guys just looking for some advice here. The lower radiator hose on my MJ has developed a small leak. Plan on replacing it tomorrow and was wondering if I should flush/drain all the old fluid out and replace with new while doing this. Also the lower right hose that I'm replacing (if facing the Jeep from the front) has one of those prrotective sleeves on it. Is it necessary to replace this from the old hose to the new one. Or even source another one? Thanks in advance just haven't had to do this on my jeeps before 👍🏻
  4. awesome thanks for the help so far guys. really appreciate it.
  5. hey guys. here is my new to me 1988 jeep Comanche. The Comanche in general is new to me but I used to drive a 05 TJ. This one has the I6 4.0 with a 5 speed tranny with 170k. I have just a few initial problems with it that I need some guidance getting resolved. First off I have no turn signals. I replaced the flasher relay and now the 4 ways work and all other lights work but when I actuate the turn signal nothing happens. I am leaning towards the switch itself on the steering column needing to be replaced. Secondly I have a small amount of oil on my air filter. I have replaced both lines coming from the valve cover that connect to the airbox and took it for a quick ride and no oil yet. hopefully that resolved that but with the miles creeping up I am considering an engine rebuild possibly this coming spring. looking to keep this truck a long time and really make it last. Any advice is greatly appreciated! excited to be a part of this forum!
