  1. That’s great! That gives me comfort for sure.
  2. Hi there, I need to replace some of the freeze plugs on the driver side of my MJ and I will have the manifolds and injector rail off and so I am revisiting installing the Bosch injectors from a Volvo. I know that’s been covered a TON on here, but what I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on is whether installing these injectors would interfere with CA smog testing in any way. I really don’t want to spend the money on the upgrade only for it to fail the next t smog test it needs. This is the whole reason I have not yet just done the upgrade. any advise is welcome!

Status: Still on the road! Still passes smog and only has 109k original miles. Notes: Truck is black with grey interior. Has the cloth bench seat and a column shifter. Came from the factory as a short bed with the Dana 44 usually found in the metric tonne package for a long bed. Current owner: I am the current owner and resides on my private street when not in the Sierra mountains being my cabin truck.
  4. Hate to sound like an idiot, but where do I even start with that? Where are the links that would cause the truck to have no power whatsoever?
  5. The long and the short: my horn has not been working. I installed one on the passanger’s side (there wasn’t one there) and used the existing pigtail to plug it in. Instead of getting a working horn, my negative battery cable melted and the truck died. I replaced the negative batery cable and still nothing. The truck is getting absolutely no power and it will not jumpstart. I haven’t fully inspected the positive battery cable because it got dark but from what I could tell it is totally unaffected. What could have shorted out that would cause the truck to lose total power? Please help!
  6. Thanks for that! Should be included from now on
  7. Hey thanks for the reply. I was thinking it could be the cat but wanted to see if it could be anything else first. Sorry but I am fairly new. How do I fill in my signature?
  8. So for a month or two my MJ has been having some strange symptoms. When I first start and drive it and come to my first stop light the truck begins to bog a bit and the suddenly return to normal idle so abruptly that you can feel the car lurch forward a little through your foot on the brake pedal (it’s an automatic). After a little while longer the exhaust begins to emit a foul smell that is notable from the cab with the windows down. Anyone have any good ideas?
  9. So this is a picture of the rear harness. The duct tapped wire is the one hardwired in the front
  10. unfortunately i think part of the harness has been hacked out to make whatever he did work. I have no idea what the stock wiring under there is supposed to look like. I think the fate of the blinkers May be as simple as the fact it is disconnected from the harness right under the steering column
  11. Soooo... I am a brand new owner of a 1990 Jeep Comanche. I am having a wiring problem though... the rear turn signals don’t work. They don’t blink, and they don’t light up when the parking lights are on. fronts work just fine. Come to find it looks like the previous owner bypassed the old brake switch and hardwired a new one to the fuse box. This renders the hazards in functional, but they operate when the wire is unplugged and a fuse put in its place. Go figure, even when the hazard starts are flashing, the rear does nothing.. all the lights light up when I brake and the hard wire is in place but nothing when it comes to signals. I suppose my question is more about the harness and how to hard wire the turn signals at this point??? I don’t know... I have traced the hard wire all the way back to the rear of the car where it is spliced with duct tape.... HELP! What can I do?? I have attached a pic of the hard wire handy work....
