  1. There is no map sensor or plug for it on the firewall. Doesn't appear that the harness has been touched either. Maybe will dig into tomorrow a bit if I get some time
  2. It's not a Renix at all, I'm very familiar with the Renix system. Sadly, This is my 3rd MJ and my first one is still around. haha Yeah its a HO for sure Yeah its a 95 or 96 dash or at least the column with the airbag in it. It appears to be a 97+ or I'm learning to a 98+ swap as far as the engine goes. I recall my 97 XJ having a map sensor on the fire wall. Or maybe I'm confusing that with my old 95 XJ. Its a blur over the years with these XJs and MJs. I haven't done anything else with it the last few weeks. It does turn over so at least the engine isn't seized. Who ever did what they did didn't do a horrible job.
  3. @MiNi Beast after investigating the wiring harness further, I found no evidence of a map sensor plug at all. The harness appears to be a factory one with no signs of anyone cutting it apart in the engine bay. Was there any year a 4.0 didn't have a MAP sensor? I know my 88, 89 MJs have them, Old 95 and 97 XJs have had them and have given me no start issues over the years.
  4. Good catch on the map sensor! I don't have any power going to the fuel pump and I see a few connectors with a fair share of cut wires under the dash. Also injectors 4 and 5 have chewed through wires. I thankfully (I guess?) have owned a fair share of XJs so I can't wait to mess with this failed swap. Love getting things working correctly that others can't. Just torn now on what one of my comanches I'm going to 5.3 LS swap now. Will keep this updated for sure, I'm spending more time on forums now and away from the meta verse (besides the CC Instagram and my own)
  5. Thanks! I'm pretty sure the wife is going to steal this MJ for herself. I LOVE that Yukon. The 8.1 does consume a lot of fuel but it doesn't miss a beat towing anything.
  6. Majority of what it came with is long gone by now anyways , I know the manufactures reuse RPO codes (thats what GM calls them) The Vivid Red could work now though. Awesome to be able to gather all this info still.
  7. Thanks for the information!
  8. As I promised in the Facebook group, I am starting a build thread of this little truck I rescued on 2/4/2022 This is currently a 1988 4.0 AW4 2WD Sport Truck. It doesn't run and has a failed OBD2 swap that has been performed. It cranks but won't fire. I haven't dug to much into it, Was busy cleaning the mold, dirt and wasp nests off it today. If anyone has any info on a 1996 XJ OBD2 swap into a MJ I would love to read it. Maybe figure out where they went wrong. I will search around the forum none the less though. Here are the photos from filthy to clean. Random other vin tag on the core support Besides a small hole in the drivers floor pan right near the fuse block, This is the only real body damage.

  11. I would have to get crafty with that. The bed is the only thing MJ about the trailer. I used a older flat bed trailer I had and added to the frame and welded the beat up bed to it. Was just looking at it, Maybe use a XJ/M front bumper on the rear. Then work around that for a hitch set up on it.
  12. Lifted the MJ trailer a bit, Need to paint match it at some point. Also need to figure out what to do on the rear. Find a bumper or make a roll pan
  13. Finally welded in the barnes dana 30 truss kit and C gussets. While I had the welder out I filled in the holes I drilled in the bumpers and added some E track tabs to the bed. Using a Y type strap to secure the spare tire. I didn't want something large to remove every time I wanted to make use of the bed. Now I need to lift the Comanche trailer in order to fit 35s.
  14. Its been awhile, A very long time actually. Now that I have sold the project Comanche I had I'm spending more time on my other MJ. Plus with buying myself a laptop (I haven't owned a computer in 12 years) I will be posting a bit more often. Rather keep this forum a bit active than use Facebook. Few quick photos, I recently got 35s installed and repaired a laundry list of electrical wiring.
  15. Little updated: Installed some DirtBound rock sliders. Bolt on? Meh, That's for people with commitment issues. Had to remove the front mount since I have the Rustys Comp 4 link brackets welded to the "Frame" and it kept the sliders from aligning up properly. Went ahead and burned the other mounts all directly to the MJ. Also installed the rear bed side armor. If I didn't smash the right rear in the install would have been pretty easy. All in all, I'm happy. Now I won't end up with anymore cab dents
  16. It’s been awhile but nothing has changed recently. Just that I upgraded the steering to DirtBound’s set up
  17. Here’s what it looked like the day I picked it up 3 years ago. Just a 2wd short bed MJ that was clean and spray painted white. Will continue with more pictures later on. I have a lot!
  18. Pete, It looks great from anything more then 5 feet away. Goal is to keep it clean and respectable while still wheeling it I’ve got pictures for days! I wouldn’t know where to start with posting them
  19. I’m still working on the correct way to write it up. It’s not as simple as adding nitrogen to tires
  20. Hello all, Haven’t used a forum in a good 10 years but figured I would give it a go again. Here’s a short list of what’s been done to my MJ and a few pictures.
