Home made 4.7 Stroker/AX-15/ 231/ Std/ Std / long
Build date: (its on the driverside door sticker, in the form of month and year) Can't tell ya - all faded out.
Current Location: Montana.
Status: My daily driver - project truck - Hunting Fishing and geo caching rig.
Notes: When I did the stroker (wife ran it out of water) I also put in a three core radiator with a non-pressurized recovery system, posi-lock front axle cable setup. Ah...it helps to be a machinist, too.
Stroker has '83 Eagle 242 crank and rods, 2002 +0.060 bore pistons (with dish cut .032 deeper for reg. gas) Comp cam, offset ground crank, milled deck, Ford injectors, and a bunch of other stuff. Everything was done to keep squish in specs and compression down to regular gas. Everything works great after 30K+ miles - monster torque! AND still 21 MPG!! Pulls like crazy from 1000 to 3000 rpms. Still has std axles (3.08) but have a doner Cherokee ('87) with 3.88's. I would like to put a modest lift on it ( 2-3 inches) for chain clearance - this is Montana.
