1986 Jeep Comanche 2.8l V6 Engine / Automatic Trans / 8’ Bed Build date: (its on the driverside door sticker, in the form of month and year) the sticker has worn away 🤷🏻‍♂️ Current Location: Fairfield County, CT Status: Still in the road and doing dump runs at the moment to support the family during Covid-19 Notes: It’s a tan/brown two tone color that I’ve never seen on any other model or photo.... has an after-market sun roof that was added by the dealer at purchase. Vinyl Bucket seats with floor shifter... Has a plow (though plow is not working at the moment and disconnected) ... it has been on the road since it was purchased in 1986! Current owner: Original owner 1986-1993, my Grandfather 1993-2013 and myself from 2014 - now. Has stayed in Fairfield County, CT it’s whole life.

Hello all! What a great forum this is! Very helpful indeed for someone like me that is a Novice behind the wrench but learning.... So my 1986 Jeep Comanche Custom V6 Exhaust downpipe (which is a Y shape) has rotted and I sound like a Harley driving around town (enough that a cop even commented I need to fix it thankfully without a ticket)... I replaced from the Cat and back last Fall.... then over the winter this pipe decided to go.... I searched this forum and saw Walker #40401 and AP #94908 as replacements on posts from 2007 and 2015... but both companies don't even make them at all anymore and I can find anyone who still has one laying around in a back room anymore. There also aren't any Comanches in any junk yards around me.... Wondering, other than having one made for me, if there were any alternatives for a novice? Maybe someone has one laying around they don't need anymore?

I circled the pipe in white that a red fluid has been spitting out of since I loaded the Auto Trans Fluid down the pipe with the dipstick. I put in the recommended amount as per Chilton's and drove it about 5 miles since it would then engage. But it was dripping a reddish fluid when I returned to the driveway. When I opened up the hood, that hole had some squirt out when I had a friend put it into "D" with the brake on. I'm baffled.

I'm wondering if someone can tell me if these 2 holes connect to each other or if I'm missing 2 hoses that need to go someplace else? My 1986 Comanche was a my Grandfather's since 1993 and my Grandmother just gave it to me last year after his passing. I bought a Chilton's book that covers 1986-1992 but the diagram is missing when it comes to this. I do know that I filled it up with Automatic Transmission fluid after the truck wouldn't move anymore and henceforth it's been raining the fluid out of that hole any time I try to move the truck now. Any help would be appreciated either directly or pointing me to a good online resource! I want to get this truck moving again! - Tobias
