I’m doing the MJ XJ conversion on my 2WD 88 Comanche using a 4 WD 5 speed 98 Cherokee as my donor. I also want to upgrade the rear axle with a Dana 44. I’ve locate a Dana 44 from a Comanche and the tag on the differential says 3.54. Do I look for a front axle with that same 3.54? Can the ratios vary at all from the front axle to the rear without complications?

Need advice for the best year Cherokee to use for my 88 comanche. I've lined up a 4 door 98 Cherokee with 5sp manual transmission and power windows. Thoughts opinions???
