  1. Cruiser54 thanks for all the info. I will proceed with doing all the steps and touch base with you. I appreciate it as always!
  2. TRUCK INFO: 1987 JEEP COMANCHE SPORTRUCK 2WD AUTOMATIC 4.0 86,000 MILES What’s up guys it’s been a little while. Had a quick question, here lately when I’ve been driving the Comanche, during somewhat low/moderate speed, My truck will seem like it is searching for the right gear. It will keep dropping down a gear, back up a gear, down a gear then Back up. It happens mostly when I hold a steady throttle position at normal speed. Anyone have any idea? Or of had this issue?
  3. Not sure on the tongue weight, after using a tongue weight calculator, may be between 167lbs to 300 max......that's a wide range guess. It's a 18ft fiberglass cuddy cabin boat
  4. I have a 1987 2wd 4.0 automatic sportruck. (Only modificationsare 15" Aluminum wheels,235/75R15 tires, hellwig 1000lbs helper springs, and custom made hitch from "Krustyballer" , AW4 tranny (from the looks of it), Dana 35 rear The shortest trip I would have to pull the boat is 5miles, furthest would be 30Miles. Looking at purchasing a boat, and max weight with trailer, boat (with full tank of gas), engine weight, and tackle weight is spot on at 3000 lbs. I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.7L that will pull the boat with no issues. Just was wondering about the MJ.
  5. is everything still hook up like it should? Was there any modifications?
  6. Okay sounds good. Thank you
  7. I was searching around to find a good part number for the front and rear vacuum line harness for my 87 4.0 Comanche. From what I found, the 715-1366 and 715-1367 (NAPA NUMBERS) will not work with the 87's due to certain hoses not reaching or lining up? Does anyone know a good part number for the 87's Vacuum line assembly (front and rear)? I did find a good CROWN P#: 53004375 , but looking for the other half for the full assembly.
  8. I happened to find this today, this went to the EGR valve that has the plug in the line.@Cruiser54
  9. Off the wall question,is it possible the jolting could be a torque converter? The jolting seems to go away when I apply the breaks a little while going about 70-75mph. Just throwing it out there
  10. Valve cover, my mistake. Thanks...just throwing questions out there as I go through cruisers tips
  11. I can wiggle this piece on top the manifold. Should this have any movement or be completely sealed and no movement
  12. I did do the C101 Elimination. Soldered wire connections than put heat shrink tube over, taped up, and will get wire loom tomorrow. But I am Just slowly going over your steps. Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to make sure I don't miss something. As always I appreciate all the help
  13. That print out is great. Thank you. Why would you think they would do that at curiosity? Shouldn't that be connected? Always remember this: Genius has it's limits, but stupidity knows no bounds..... So is it possible this jolting is due to the hose not being hooked up to the EGR valve
  14. That print out is great. Thank you. Why would you think they would do that at curiosity? Shouldn't that be connected?
  15. Is there anything that needs to be hooked up here? I only ask because I found this line just hanging in the engine bay near it, with a plug in it. Which connects here
  16. Ok, I have a few more pictures I'm downloading to make sure all is normal
  17. Is there supposed to be something connected here on the connector stem or no? Nothing was hooked up once I removed it
  18. Lol yes sir. 82,000 miles, no rust, solid all around. Just purchased it about a month ago. So getting the hang of this MJ thing.
  19. Just the switch, I don't need the panel really. I have the spare knock outs (I guess that's what you call it) TO the left and right of the bottom of the steering wheel. So I am assuming they just pop out, and I can insert the factory switch there from what it looks like. If you wanna show me a picture of the panel that is fine too. I may be interested in it as well. But definitely the switch.
  20. Just seeing if anyone has a switch for fog lights. Mopar #: 56000025-M. Looking for fog lights too as a bonus if anyone has any.
  21. Awesome write up, I will go through and check these items this week/weekend. Thanks for the quick response
  22. I am a recent owner of a 1987, 2wd, 4.0, MJ. The truck has 82,000 Miles on her, and I have noticed when I run around 65-75MPH the truck gets a slight jerking feeling. Almost feeling like a misfire on the engine, but not. It seems to mainly do it at high speeds, low rpm while going up a hill, or putting alil more strain on the engine. Now I have noticed if I give it some gas, the truck doesn't really jolt, only if I gradually hit the gas and ease into it at high speeds. Here is a list of things I replaced when I bought the truck.... - NEW PLUGS - NEW WIRES - DISTRIBUTER CAP - ROTOR - AIR FILTER - CLEANED THROTTLE BODY - CHANGED OIL AND FILTER
  23. She is in amazing shape, no rust anywhere. I am the Thrird owner. Has always been garage kept
  24. I posted a couple weeks ago about purchasing a MJ. Well it finally went through and she is all mine. Completely stock, 87 Comanche 2WD, 4.0 ,81,000Miles, Auto , 2wd.
  25. Okay, truck looks great! And not rubbing at all up front on the fenders, control arms, or anywhere?
