I agree with that. My first Jeep had the ax5 . . . and the GM 2.8 V6. Had to replace that transmission. Eventually just upgraded to a '99 with a 4.0 and the ax15. Much more better.

One other question about the build sheets then I'll stop. Code DDX lists "5-Speed HD Manual Transmission" I assume for the BA-10 transmission. Surely the HD isn't the abbreviation for Heavy Duty, is it? Surely not. That would just be wrong.

Pete M And no dual batteries either? Oh well, saved me some time looking for the second one at first light in the morning. And no Alcantara Wrap Steering Wheel? I might be more disappointed in that than I was to find out no rack and pinion steering. While I'm here, I see something I haven't seen before: "Dana M235 Wide Rear Axle" How is that different from the "Dana 35 Rear Axle" shown for my other MJ?

Oh boy, I have been waiting for this build sheet since like forever (okay, 8 hours). This is way cool. I don't know what goes on behind the curtain to make this happen but I don't care. It's just cool. Thank you.

Title #A0945210 issued on December 20, 1988 by the Kansas Motor Vehicle Dept. Lawrence, KS Currently located in Unionville, Missouri. Lots of miles on the odometer. 280,000+ This truck is outside the shop awaiting a decision about what to do with it. I bought it thinking I wanted to do a full 1999 conversion to match a 1999 Chili Pepper Red 4 door and a Chili Pepper Red 1999 2 door XJ in the herd. Still thinking about it. Looks like original paint was Colorado Red, then a dark maroon color and most recently a rattle can olive green, Gray interior, Bench Seat Current owner is Brian Keedy Carpet flooring (no vinyl) )

Current mileage 108,819. This truck is tucked away in the shop awaiting an AX-15 swap, new paint and perhaps an interior swap from a 1989 XJ Limited Options: (See picture of window sticker) Dover Gray, Bench Seat (Canyon fabric), 5 spd, 4.0 litre engine, vent windows, dual remote mirrors full gauges, intermittent wipers, cigar lighter, power steering, tilt steering wheel, conventional spare. Current owner is Brian Keedy Vinyl flooring (no carpet)
