  3. Trying to find the crossover 258 crank to an 87 manufacture 4.0. I read the snout is the issue. Anyone know the route for this?
  4. Mine is grey interior with grey bench seat. Idiot lights and AM/FM No AC just 255s Really 275s with the rear window open.
  5. That is a factory stripe. Most of the ones I see are faded. I pulled the stripes off when I got the truck with a hair drier. Now I am thinking of returning the exterior of the truck to how she looked when I bought her. looks like he has it in grey only. 2 bills. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1987-92-MJ-JEEP-COMANCHE-PICKUP-PIONEER-HOCKEY-STICK-STRIPE-DECALS-STICKER-/161617739316? .
  6. Mines in the garage so I could not get a good pose from her. I duckgo' d 88 comanche with red stripe and that one showed up. Mine has white spokes and black face. The fender flares are white, not black. Pioneers had the color matching upgrade flare, so maybe that truck is changed to black flares. Payed just over $9K new for mine Tore my factory rear bumper up pulling a 3 axle loaded frosty ice truck out of the mud. The smittybuilt pulled an 18 wheeler out of the ditch on Hopland. and a cal trans out down on 138 by the I 5. .Little rusty now. The stripe is stick on tape. Is that tape new on your truck?
  7. I waiting for the block to come back. Started looking at engine paints, wanted to go OD green or AMC green instead of black. AMC green blacklisted in CA from Eastwood. Any ideas on where to get either color as engine paint? Found this color reference chart http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?manuf=AMC&con=m&year=1988&rows=50for all AMC colors in 88 which got me thinking about repainting and re-striping. The stripes seem impossible. Mine are like this jeep Is this going to be a special order to the local vinyl shop?
  8. 258 crank going in an in 87 block should have the same the same nose and pilot bushing hole size as the 4.0?
  9. Drivers floorboard has the rust issue at 2 on a scale of 1 - 10. Anyone tried naval jelly to kill the rust or does the need to wash off make it a bad option. Worried about the area under the reinforcing tunnel. Looks like the leak is coming in through the wiper motor area.
  10. I see thanks. So now I have to find an X somewhere to go along with the M in the build date..
  11. What does equate mean? Are you sayingthere a math formula used to decode the 8933002665 to a 530 group? Thanks
  12. There is no X after the M and it has 6 cylinders with each hole measuring around 3.76. Pistons stamped 50 with the arrow to the front. All the computer sensors are in the correct spots and the head is a 2686. I'll check the block numbers when I get the 27 years of oil leakage off the block.
  13. I read that 4.o Mj's are MX but mine is 712m16. It is a pureblood renix that only saw a tow truck when I lost the clutch slave 50 miles from home. The slave was changed at 305,000 and the clutch itself was still a good clutch. I bought this truck new in Feb of 88 and ran it to 320,000 when I heard a slight rod knock. Not a tappet but a rod. Sat for 4 years, put a battery in her and she fired up on the second start up attempt. Rod noise was louder so she is in the garage getting stripped down for a trip to the machine shop. I was amazed that there was no ridge at all on the cylinder wall. Anyone know the deal with an M and not an MX on the build code?
