  1. Thanks! I've been itching to get out there and work on this thing but here in NJ were having an ice age so I'm going to have to wait it out
  2. Getting the diffs under the truck was a job but we got it done
  3. Yea that extra 3/4" of steel hanging down might get in the way when it's 23" off the ground

  7. Yes it does. I made frame rails for the front half and there will be a sub frame in the middle for the 4 link arms to mount to. The existing rear frame rails will be stiffened it will be used in mud and rock crawling
  8. Made 4' tall saw horses to build the jeep on. Sat it on there today and sat the tires next to it for fun. That should be about where ride height is

And for the next couple weeks I was on Craigslist looking for deals and getting the major components I needed to build the coolest Comanche I could think of that still had a chance of driving down the road here in NJ 46x19.5x16.5r Baja claws Cucv (military Silverado) 1 tons Dana 60 king pin, 14 bolt rear, 4.56, locker in rear Np205 transfer case, divorced Sm465 4 speed manual trans, 2wd. Low gear then 1-3 And finally the motor. 350sbc converting to carburated
  11. started with a very solid Comanche. Long bed with roll bar. Truck was listed as 6cyl manual on Craigslist and when I arrived in Delaware to get it I noticed it was v6 and auto. Not what I wanted but I figured if I can get it for a good price I'll take it and strip it down to the shell. I was able to take it home for $1000
