I'd like to use as much of the 2000 as possible but I'm not opposed to using the older parts. So just to make sure I understand everyone correctly... the 2000 engine will go in and run? Ive done an engine swap before where everything bolted on but the sensors were moved.. and it wouldn't start. I'd rather not have to do that again

Thanks for the quick responses. Ive though of replacing the lifters but that still leaves me with an old worn out TBI when I have a nice low mileage TJ engine that didn't cost me a thing. The TJ engine is basically stripped already so I have no problem just swapping out the block as long as it will work which it sounds like it will.

Hey everyone, I just picked up a pretty clean 86 longbox 4x4 with the 2.5L The 2.5 has a slight lifter tick that has me a little worried. Can Anyone tell me if a 2.5L from a 2000 TJ will have the same sensors and be a pretty straight forward swap? I know the block will bolt in easy, just hoping someone here can give me a definite answer so I don't do the swap and have the sensors not work properly. I already have the TJ engine with low mileagejust laying here is why I ask. thanks!
