I suspect the lever/linkage position on my proportioning valve is wrong. (Chilton manual seems to show a different position.) My linkage is in the "10 o'clock position if you look at the pumpkin from the rear of the truck. The lever is in the "7 o'clock position, pointing at the ground from the valve.
At 220k miles, should this valve be replaced? Rear breaking is poor at best. Brake shoes and adjustors are good, pedal good, no fade. Replaced the factory master cylinder about 10k ago. Really don't know how to test the operation of this valve. Any experience (short of the suggestions found to eliminate the valve) would be appreciated!
