  1. here's a link to my truck in its first life out in the sands of so cal and the first round of modifications http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/projects/comanche/
  2. it was done when i bought the truck...in the huge file of paperwork and recipts that he gave me it doesnt say why he relocated it but i kinda like it there better
  3. took the bed off a couple weeks ago and just now got around to puting my pics online... need to do some brake line work wondering how this guy would look with a flat bed....nahh
  4. Thanks its pretty clean, and 100% rust free, straight from southern cal. Its got a titan 4.6 stroker, rustys intake, 5.0 ford injectors, pace setter header and flowmaster 40 series muffler. 8.5 inches of lift via teraflex 6.5 springs and adjustable spacers tnt long arm kit and 1 ton steering custom accos leaf packs and shackles super 30 kit up front and a 44 out back with arb lockers 4.88 USA gears and alloy 30 spline shafts and disk breaks all the way around then theres custom wrap around rear bumper, rock rats rocker guard and custom rock rails, arb with an 8000lb mile marker, synthetic rope, skids underneath and frame stiffners under the bed so the gas tank and everything stays in place when i remove the bed my plans are to get it running like a top again and get all the parts that have been sitting in boxes put on the ol girl then build some tube doors and drive it like i stole it haha its just the electrical issues that I'm having a hard time with if i new more about the renix system I'm sure i would already have it on the road but I'm starting to do my homework on that
  5. well I'm starting to get the time and some extra funds to start this old project...i bought this truck about 5 years ago thinking i needed another project jeep but everything else kept taking all my jeep funds i ever had...that is until now. Its a 87 chief that was built up by the po but never finished so i got a pretty good deal back then thinking all it needed was some paint and a couple lil odds and ends. Well i fixed a couple little things on it and drove it for a summer and then the electrical issues starting showing there ugly face. i parked it in my dads building and started looking all over this site to begin working on her then life happened, i needed a new place to call home and once i bought this house the little bit of funds i had to put into the jeep turned into no funds at all haha anyways I'm ready to start now so I'm gonna start a build thread...here's some pics from sometime around when i bought it off ebay
  6. thanks for the help hunting season has put a short stop to getting the work done on my truck but ill try to get some pics up this week or sometime. what about getting rid of the renix style injection all together is that worth the hassle? what all would that involve?
  7. no typo its a 4.6 i think he told me he bought it from golden eagle or titan...i have a huge file on all the stuff that guy did to it and theres still a web site with build threds from the first guy that built this thing when it was out west... http://www.harrysituations.com/projects/comanche.html I'm pretty computer stupid but ill start trying to put some pics of it on here soon
  8. hey everybody i used to always lurk around here and try to steal all of your good ideas but i might as well say this is my first post because its been a couple years sence the last time i came around. ive had my comanche for abour 3 years now but once i couldnt get it inspected abour 2 and a half years ago it hasnt been getting out much. now that its starting to get nice and cold outside ive decided its time to take on a winter project and ive decided the old girls gets to sit in the garage this winter now that ive explained myself ill get to the point i bought this jeep about 70% done and i guess its up to me to work out the bugs...its got Alot of electrical problims and I'm not really sure where to start. i guess it had a brake fluid leak from the master cylender and it went down on the wireing harness which pretty much ate my fuse box away so now i need to replace the whole harness inside and out. I'm just wondering if i can get some tips and tricks on getting that thing out and a new one put back in...or i was kicking the idea around about trying to do a 97 up dash and getting rid of the old renix style injection, I'm just not sure yet so i want to get information on both routes and then i will decide from there by the way its a 87 with renix injection and a 4.6 so i can't just get a wrecked 97 up xj and swap everything except the motor or can i?
