Oem 1986 Power Windows And Locks??
Bigsarge173 replied to Bigsarge173's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Gotcha... Any idea on a value? I can't find any to compare prices on it. -
How rare are these and what is a good value. I found them on Craigslist being sold in southern IL, but I have no idea a fare offer would be. Please advise on your opinions. Thank you! http://stlouis.craigslist.org/pts/4381386068.html

Mj Headliner Board And Interior Lights That Go Over Selt Belt
Bigsarge173 replied to Bigsarge173's topic in Wanted
Wow.... That's a great stash of parts. I will PM you Rob. -
To Do List - Don't know if I should get my hands on a factory roll bar or not. I thinking of going with a leer bed lid. Have to make up my mind on that matter. The interior looks like a hobo lived inside so I'm going with custom upholstery look and put in a new carpet. I'm keeping the original dash but going to repair and repaint it (crack on top by the radio). I do have figure out what I'm going to do with the radio. I really want a double din sony touch screen in there. I just have to figure out what to do with the bottom vent. I am going install a rear view mirror with temp and compass. My heart is torn about power windows and locks. I found someone on craigslist selling a 1986 MJ factory PW and Lock but I was unable to come to a agreement on price. So that's we're I'm at on that. I really want a Viper Smart Auto Starter so power locks are kinda needed. ---------------------------------- As far as the body I'm keeping the repainting it the original black and looking for a custom eliminator decal. I'm keeping all the original body parts, but I need to repair or replace the rear bumper. I'm going to add a mopar light bar from a jeep liberty renegade ( which I already have). Lastly I'm adding napier hood vents ( not sure if I'm going to actually use make a hole in the hood or just for looks. Again I do want to keep as much as I can original but I want some custom touches. *************OPEN TO IDEAS ------ I would love everyone's input .

Thank you! I put a call into Viking Truck and Auto Salvage in Redding Cal. They are going to call me about a estimate on the headliner. I will go with you guys for the lights. My list so far Headliner Board Interior lights Rear Bumper - I have no clue how they bent it so bad. I will post pics tomorrow. Front OEM Fog Lights (found some new ones on eBay for $48 each) The rubber that's under the front bumper. The one held on from the flares. Don't know if I should get my hands on a factory roll bar or not. I thinking of going with a leer bed lid. Have to make up my mind on that matter. The interior looks like a hobo lived inside so I'm going with custom upholstery look and put in a new carpet. Does anyone have a lead on finding these parts? Thanks!

The lift is a Rubicon 3.5" superide with monotubes. Going with 31x10.5 Goodyear Duratracs and All black Gambler Wheels.

I will never drive this truck in the snow. I'm buying a 01 XJ for the winter and storing the MJ so it can live a very long life.

Yes the Door Tag shows build date of 04/92. I will post a picture later tonight. I did read a article showing that June of 92 it was officially the end of the MJ. The article states that by the date it was made official the last of the MJ's might had already been made before. They made 12 a day. So there is a good chance my Eliminator is one of the last to roll out of the plant. http://www.nytimes.com/1992/06/06/business/company-news-chrysler-to-end-production-of-jeep-comanche.html I guess I got lucky? @Rob - I live in Melrose Park, IL The plugs I got for $4 each on Ebay. I got the brute force intake for $100 on amazon. Later I will look into the Cowl intake, I have to budget myself for the body and paint.

I'm heading to the junk yard tomorrow and looking for front grill and bumper. Hoping I find a replacement. I am going to get a custom rear bumper made. The trucks current rear bumper looks like it went to war with a tree. Its too far gone.
-
#1 goal is to try to keep it as original as possible but add small aggressive features that scream eliminator.
-
1.) I'm degreasing the engine and removing all the Texas Mud. 2.) I'm flushing the engine tomorrow and giving it a new head gasket. 3.) Giving it a Top End Tune-up. ( Champion double platinum spark plugs and Champion 8mm wires) 4.) Upgrading the Distributor Cap and ignition coil. 5.) Install Brute Force Cold Air Intake 6.) Flushing radiator, new Goodyear hoses and belts. 7.) Getting my new exhaust installed. I just ordered a stainless exhaust ceramic header. I'm going with a flowmaster 40. Phase 2 - Body and Undercoat Phase 3 - Lift, Suspension, and Tires Phase 4 - Interior All done in 2 months

Today after what seems like forever. My 1992 MJ Eliminator has arrived from (NO RUST) Texas. It is a 2wd 5 speed with 95,000. It is a little rough right now but I'm already going to start the restoration tomorrow. I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with everyone. It took me 5 years of looking endlessly on Ebay, Craigslist, and autotrader to find it.

Brake Conversion - Wheel Size Advise
Bigsarge173 posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So this might be a very stupid question. If I would do the brake conversion to my MJ, would it affect the wheel size? I was thinking of swapping Front and Back disc brakes from a 99-03 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I assume it would be a big upgrade. * Side note - I'm upgrading to a Rubicon Express 3.5" Superide lift kit with monotubes. I want to get some Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs Tires. I'm going with Vision Wheels Warlord Wheels. Please Advice before I do something stupid and waste money. Thank you in advance! Bigsarge -

I will post pictures as soon as I get it nice and cleaned up ready for a photo shoot.

Thank you everyone! So with that said I will just keep it as original as I can. I just bought it and I wanted a 97-01 XJ swap, but now I'm sure I will keep it as original as I can. I didn't buy it for resale value I got my MJ after a 5 year hunt. I wanted a 4x4 eliminator but it was too hard to find and I couldn't pass on this one because the condition is unbelievable.

Would my Eliminator be considered rare?
