comancheboy replied to comancheboy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was thinking running wheel spacers. But it be cheaper to run one of those isuzu or honda rear dana 44's. Is a 88 grand wagoneer axle vacum or a non vac front axle dana 44? -

comancheboy posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm starting a comanche projected and want to swap out the week old dana 30 and 35 in it now and swap in a set of 1972 wagoneer dana 44 front and rear axles. Will these axle work in my comanche our will i have to buy a new t-case besides my 231 in it now. I also want to set up a long arm kit on it as well thinking a rough country long arm or a rusty's long arm. will these kits work with the dana 44's after i put the brackets on the front axle or will i have to make my own long arm kit. Is there any good builds with these axle in a comanche that has good info on them and there build??????? :typing:  -

comancheboy replied to comancheboy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Dam sounds like alot of work for some extra power. Well better build this stroker good to make it worth my time. Is there a painless wireing kit or another company that mite sell a kit so you don't have to use all the ripped out old wire out of the donor jeep. -

Thanks for the link. Sounds like i mite have to step it up and put a H.O in it looks like you get the best power out of the H.O motor. Is there any links that break down the swap to high ouput .Like what you need besides motor ecu and some rewiring some things in the engine bay and maybe under dash?? -

Thinking about building a stroker motor out of my 1988 non high output motor. Ben hunting around on the internet trying to find a set up useing the non H.O motor but can't find one. I'm thinking maybe converting the non H.O motor to the high output head etc. to make it easyer for the stroker kit but i can't deside what to do SO WHAT DO YOU THINK????? -
I got a 88 comanche that needs a better lift. I heard that you can use the front coils out of a zj grand cherokee for a 3inch lift. will it work if i take the upper and lower control arms and trac bar (since mines blown out) and coils and get a 3inch lift for the front? or will it throw the front end out of alignment if i use those parts out of the grand cherokee

Death wobble problems
comancheboy replied to comancheboy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would say about 4 but big anuff to clear 32x10.50x15 swampers with a little rubbing -
I bot a comanche off a guy that did a homeade lift GETTO I NO. The guy started by adding coil drop collers on top of the coils to lower the coils down. cut the lower control arms in half and legthend them about a 1inch or maybe more. Then I think cut the trac bar and lengthend it as well. WOW Now i put new steering on it and it help on the wobbles then the trac bar went out so i got a brand new STOCK trac bar and blue it out less then 24hours in the truck on the ROAD. the steering was a little off before the trac bars was replace but not bad. Then i replace the trac bar and now the steering wheel sits a 5 oclock when you steer left it throws you in a death wobble only after 35 :dunno: :dunno: and up even got one at 60 on the highway crazy feeling. Does any one now what the deal is I think the trac bar it to short but i could be rong what do you guys think.
