I have an '88 comanche with the ba10/5 trans. When the outside temp. is approx. 40 deg. or lower, the speedometer reads way faster than the actual road speed when going approx.10 mph or faster, and there is a whining noise that seems to be coming from the speedo cable and/or the speedo output gear in the trans. When slowing down below 10 mph,the noise stops, and the speedo reads correctly.I have filled the trans. with the correct grade & weight of gear oil. When it is warm outside, it works great.Has anyone else experienced this?Any ideas on what causes this and/or how to correct it would be greatly appriciated! Thanks.
