So i finally got an mj i have wanted one since i was like 10 (8 years ago lol) and here is the specs. 2.8v6 4 speed 2wd Long Bed 2 inch lift 235s The bad: The drivers floor is rotted through Carb is Way Bad Valve cover leaks Throwout bearing is SHOT Its 2wd Its a 4 speed The plan: Fix the floor (i have seen plenty of write ups for this) I plan on building another 2.8 on the side oil pan up and send it to ARI racing in grandview and get it stroked I want to find a donor XJ and swap 4wd and a 5 speed I will lift it to about 6 in total and slide some 32's or 33's in As for color I'm going with a dark blue and black 2 tone And finally (for now hehehehe) A big name badge on the side of the truck MOJO... What do you guys think? any and all help would be appreciated. and as soon as i figure out how to post pics ill do so NOTG Nick Of The Gas
  2. How hard is it to run the wiring??? i just so happen to know where there is a camaro with the 3.4 sitting for sale :) will i notice an increase in power???
  3. yes it is the 2.8...so you are saying i can swap a 3.4 from a camaro in and it will direct bolt in?? is the 3.4 carb?? will the same transmission work??? OK i am crimping the pipes coming off of the headers...the only reason i am doing that is because the stuff on top of the pipes had holes in it so it was leaking bad...205 on the tires, no lift (yet hehehe) the PO half a$# installed a cat back exhaust...i had been reading about swaping in a GM 4.3L??? is that hard??? i don't know why my classified is locked sorry
  4. My MJ seems to have no power...so i figure I'm just going to rebuild my carburetor and see if that helps. I just did an oil change and i put a bottle of Restore in there in hopes of regaining lost compression. The truck just doesn't have any oomph if you know what i mean. i had to replace the transmission in it and i had to put a 4 spd instead of 5 spd. all of my emissions stuff was shot so one of the guys at work (valvoline brand new store) just started to crimp off the pipes. I don't want like a million horses but i just want it to get back some of its Mojo.... I really need some help in any form.... any and all help is greatly appreciated.... Thanks, Nick Of The Gas NOTG
  5. hey guys ever since i first saw a comanche i have wanted one....well i got one 1986 ($250) with a bad ax5 transmission...its got the 2.8 V6 and a 5 speed 2wd...the motor runs as well as one could expect for 22 year old motor...i need to get this truck moving so here are my questions.... will the tranny from a 1991 2wd cherokee 5 spd manual fit in place of the tranny in my 86 comanche (its 2wd 5 speed also)...if not where can i find a tranny for it??? i lost all gears except 4...i was told that all of the gears run on a counter gear except 4th...when i drained the tranny almost no fluid came out...so i put some in and drainded that and there was some metal in that fluid...i filled it with synthetic in hopes that if it had fluid it would regain the lost gears...no such luck...i need some help.... also would the tranny from a 2.8lv6 s10 of the same year work??? thanks for all of the help
