I have a 1990 2wd MJ Short Bed with 145k. The motor is knocking severely so I bought a donor XJ to swap parts. I had no idea it was going to be as complicated as I have read, but having said that the motor doesn't scare me as much now with all of the info here on the forum. My question is what will I need to swap from 2wd 5sp to 4wd (Auto - XJ:::::Manual - MJ)?

Picked up a 1993 XJ today with 146k. I will be doing the "EASY" swap very soon once I get the motor out and see the damage. The XJ currently has a 6" lift that I will be using on the front and then doing SOA and shackles on the rear. The bed will be removed and a flat bed will be fabbed up. I hope to have this thing ready to roll by June sometime. I will be snapping pics as I go so hopefully this thread takes off! :banana:

Just picked this jewel up to take the place if my XJ. Its 2wd but I'm working on changing that. The object of focus at the moment is the 4.0. It knocks and leaks oil pretty bad. So looking to swap in a HO. Has 145k on the odo.
